Components of a fire
• Fuel: Something that burns• Air: Oxygen to keep the fire going• Heat: Gas, electricity, etc
Methods to put fire out (extinguish)
• Starving = removing the fuel.• Smothering = removing the oxygen.• Cooling = removing the heat.
Fire procedure
• Raise the alarm.• Call the fire brigade.• Turn of gas and electricity supply. • Close doors and windows.• Leave the building and go to the
assembly point.

• Put yourself in any danger.
• Delay raising the alarm.
• Use any lifts.• Stop to collect your
belongings.
Fire policy

The fire safety orders are enforced by the local fire brigade. However, there are other enforcing agencies e.g. Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
