Note:Thetopandsideviewsareactuallyofdifferentspecimensofthisdragonfly.Inthesideview,thewingsarefoldedup.Wewillbeusingthesideviewimageonlytodrawthesideviewcurvesofthebody.
Draw the bodySincethedragonflyissymmetricalinthetopview,andthemodelisnotgoingtobeascientificreproduction,traceonesideofthedragonflyandmirrorthecurvetotheotherside.Forthesideview,drawtwocurvessincetheprofileisnotsymmetrical.Thenwewillloftcrosssectioncurvestomakethebody.Theheadwillbemadeseparately.Thetailandbodywillallbemadeinonepiece.Thetailisactuallyseveralsegmentsthatflex.Ifyouweremakingananimationorascientificmodel,youprobablywouldwanttodividethedragonflyintosmallersurfaces.
