XI. REACTIONS INVOLVING GASES A) Gay-Lussac's and Avogadro's Laws

1) 1808 - Joseph-Louis Gay-Lussac published the results of some experiments on reactions of gases which resulted in the Gay-Lussac Law of Combining Volumes. When gases react, the volumes of the product and reactant gases at a given temp and pressure are in the ratios of small whole numbers.
