Cognitive Functioning-an intellectual process by which one becomes aware of perceives or comprehends ideas.

It involves all aspects of perception, thinking, reasoningand remembering

Any mental process that involves symbol operation. Eg. Perception, memory, creation of imagery and thinking .

It encompasses awareness and capacity for judgment.

A PERSON WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES WILL HAVE:

Have trouble understanding social rules

THERE ARE ADAPTIVE SKILLS TO BE CONSIDERED: Conceptual Skills-reading, numbers, money, time and communication skill.

Social Skills-help us to get along well with others. Include understanding and following social rules and customs, obeying laws, and detecting the motivations of others in order to avoid victimization and deception.

Practical life skills- needed to perform the activities of daily living includes feeding, bathing, dressing, occupational and navigational skills.

We can use these words to encourage and uplift the people around us.

Group Activity:   We often don’t see the positive attributes of our

friends and classmates. Now we are going to look for somebody and tell to

him/her the positive attributes that he/ she have. This activity will uplift the moral of your friend and classmate.

As Educators we will have a pledge that we will not be a part of bullying with the children with special need with picture taking for remembrance.
