Chart Lesson A Progressive Look at God’s Purpose & Dealings on the Earth

Purpose: To recognize God’s plan and purpose for earthly dominion as distinct from the heavenly purpose of the body of Christ

given by Christ to the apostle Paul. The reader will do well to recognize that below there is no removal of the distinction between Jew and Gentile, nor the law (Jer31:31-34; Eze36:26,27; Mt23:1-5,23; Heb7:12; 8:8-10). The reason for this is that the nation of Israel was under a covenant obligation with God. The mystery purpose of the body of Christ, kept secret since the world began, under no covenant obligation (2Cor5:17; Eph2:11,12; 6:15) is not once in view (Rom16:25; Col1:25-27; Eph3:1-12). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------

1. Creation + Dominion. (Gen1:1,7-2:25) God sees fit to entrust earthly dominion to man.

2. Sin Enters. by one man (Rom5:12), God’s forbears 1600+ years, judges (Gen6:5-8; 7:21-24) & confuses language (Gen11:9)

3. Promises. God calls Abram, gives promises – Circumcision – Israel – Bondage (Gen12:1-3; 15:6,13; 17:2-14; 32:28; 36:22)

4. Old Testament. Israel given Law, Temple, Priesthood, future Kingdom + King (Ex4:22; 12:40; 19:5; Deu17:14; 18:18; 28:13)

5. Kingdom. Prophesied King of David’s seed, Suffering Servant, Messiah to rule (2Sam7:12; Ps22:14-17; Isa7:14; 9:6-8; 53)

6. The King’s Forerunner & Arrival. Messenger precedes King, NT, purging, Kingdom Come (Dan9:24-27; Jer31:31;

Eze36:26,27; Mal3:1-6; 4:4-6; Mk1:1-15; Jn1:1-17; Mt16:15-23)

7. New Testament. Begins after Christ’s death, post-resurrection/ascension he sends the Spirit, disciples preach “last days”

repentance to Israel before Christ’s return. (Heb9:15-17; Act1:5-9; 2:2,14-21; 3:17-24; Isa2:2)

8. The King’s Return. Christ’s second coming, purifying Israel, punishing sinners, establishing Millennial Kingdom,

resurrecting all men for judgment, banishing to the lake of fire, bringing down the heavenly Jerusalem and eternal state on earth (Dan9:24-27; Mt24:14-30; Rev19:11-16; 20:1-7,11-15; 21:1-22)
