Cal-Nev-Ha District
Governor Pete Edwards Luncheon on Saturday, April 29th, 2017
Members of the Kiwanis of Lincoln Foothills please consider attending
this event. Let’s show our Governor Pete Edwards and First Lady
Jeannette our Kiwanis Spirit! Our goal is to fill a table of ten. Board
members and members check your calendars. At our meeting on
Friday, March 17th we will have a sign-up sheet. We must report into
our Lt. Governor Laird Smith how many of us are attending.
For those of you who are looking to participate in an activity, this is a
great way to start. You will meet other Kiwanians and here about
“special people” who contribute to the success of Kiwanis. Join us for
lunch and an afternoon of awards hosted by Cal-Nev-Ha Governor Pete
Edwards.
We will recognize one of our own Kiwanis members, fellow Kiwanians
and community members with Distinguished Service Awards. Let’s
take pride in our club and have a great representation at the Governor’s
Luncheon.

Kiwanis Club of Lincoln Foothills Membership Growth
Contributed by Mary Luciano
Don’t forget to bring in new potential members. As of April 10th, we have added four new members for Fiscal Year
2016-2017. This year there is a challenge by Lt. Governor Laird Smith to obtain the new members. Let’s get creative
and get more members. See the Membership Challenge Chart below.
Let’s challenge ourselves to bring in more “worker bees.” Let’s get the word out about Kiwanis and all the wonderful
things that we do for our community.
Kathy Shaddox, our member chair will discuss at the next meeting ways to get new members and what tactics are
being used to recruit Millennials.

2017 Valentines Dinner & Dance New Orleans Dinner Donation
Contributed by Mike and Marty Sue Hart
The winners of the Valentines Dinner Dance New Orleans Dinner Auction for Four donated and hosted by
Kiwanians Michael and Marty Sue Hart was prepared by Chef Michael and served by Maid Marty Sue. The weather
was lovely and the evening started with wine in their backyard, accompanied with soft music, followed by dinner in
the dining room.
The Four-Course Dinner included Caesar Salad, Escargot served with Sourdough Bâtard, Etouffee with Rice and
Broccoli, and completed with Lemon Soufflé. The hosts joined the foursome at the end of the evening, enjoying getting
to know each other, and were graciously thanked by winner John Griffin, who said "You never know what you're
going to get when you bid on these events, but this evening was wonderful! The food, the table decorations,
everything was great!". Mike and Marty Sue thanked the foursome for bidding on their donated dinner and
explained that all of the winning bid monies will be donated by the Kiwanis Club of Lincoln Foothills to some of the
local elementary schools in Lincoln.
