Two hundred and eighty-six artists from the five continents were commissioned to create works of stained-glass art on the theme 'in search of the light of the world' especially for this exhibition at the International Stained-Glass Centre in Chartres, forming a collection of 321 completely original new works.

The result is a unique overview that provides insight into the pictorial approach of contemporary artists from all over the world in an exhibition running at the Museum of Stained Glass in Chartres until 30 September 2018.

The transfer of the tomb of Franz Stock there in 1963 made it a place of memorial and pilgrimage Europe-wide.
