The Chavez Boxing Foundation

Chavez Boxing FoundationSponsor a boxer program

The Chavez Boxing Foundation was started by former professional boxer and Phoenix native Pete Chavez in 2001. Pete started out training children from the neighborhood and as the classes grew, Pete officially set up the Chavez Boxing Foundation in 2006. The Foundation gives children the opportunity to better themselves emotionally, physically and mentally. It provides mentoring, counseling, tutoring and one-on-one coaching as well as outside resources for employment and educational scholarships. Chavez Boxing FoundationTHE FOUNDATION

WHO DID YOU SERVE AND WHAT DID YOU ACCOMPLISH THAT DAY?In the video, Brian and I were demonstrating one-on-one sparring techniques.Children typically get to spar with us to put the learned techniques into practice.I also went ahead and donated the ropes for the ring, which are hanging in the back.WHAT IS YOUR TEAMS PLAN FOR AN ONGOING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CHARITY?Creating new relationships with groups is Chavez Boxing Foundation (CBF) biggest goal. We want to raise awareness for CBF. Getting them out in to the community to spread their message and seek out those opportunities who may be able to help. They obviously have monetary needs and any additional funding for CBF would assist greatly. The Chavez Boxing Foundations overhead is extremely low, but the costs also very real.WHAT WOULD YOUR CHARITY DO IF THEY WON PART OF THE PRIZE MONEY?Having additional income would ensure providing the children with items that are needed. For example, gloves, chains, tape, wraps, water, mats, bulbs, etc. With additional funds, CBF would be able to foster more children. It would also enable them to bring in more kids. Since funding is low, children are being turned away.If CBF was financially stable, more funds would also be placed into scholastics. Not only does the training help children build strong virtues, but so does pushing education. Its more than just a gym for physical exercise. Chavez Boxing FoundationTHE REASON
