The 7th annual Maker Faire Eindhoven kicks offthis weekend, revealing that there are alwaysnew opportunities to innovate, explore, andinspire. Held in the in the Klokgebouw, a formerPhilips Philite (Bakelite) factory along Strijp-S, inwhat is now the heart of the city’s industrial artsdistrict, this year’s Maker Faire Eindhoven willbreak with its traditional format and incorporatethe many maker-centric workshops, studios,galleries, and businesses in the neighborhood. Inaddition to hosting workshops in nearbylocations, it will truly bring the Maker Faire intothe community (rather than only the communityto the event) by creating a walking tour ofmaking-in-place. Likewise, the infamous CrazyParade (here is a taste of the 2017 version) willskip the Klokgebouw, and instead take its zanyvehicles to schools and homes for the elderly inother parts of the city.
