Alcohol harm in the family…… often disregarded but always real. Some consequences.

Hinder to the individual’s functioning in their social roles:- USA: mothers convicted of child abuse are 3x more

likely, fathers 10x more likely to be alcoholics

Economy and sustainability:- alcohol drains family budgets, impacting school education, health

care, lifestyle, community- Rural Mexico: $20 monthly increase in wife’s income is associated
