1998 terpenes terpenes U 0200 41 - 188 Synthesis of 6α-Hydroxypaclitaxel, the Major Human Metabolite of Paclitaxel. 6α-Hydroxypaclitaxel (I), the major human metabolite of paclitaxel, is synthesized via epimerization of 6α-hydroxy-7-epipaclitaxel, which is prepared from paclitaxel in four steps in high yield.
