Visit PEELinc.com for details. Dear Neighbors: Thank you once again to everyone who attended the Annual Meeting, as well as everyone who has joined and paid their dues for 2009. Working together there is no doubt that we can continue to maintain our neighborhood’s values. One of the hot topics of discussion at the meeting was the impact of the large recycling bins on the appearance of Cherry Creek. As stated in the deed restrictions, these bins, as well as your regular trash receptacles should not be visible from the street. If you notice while driving or walking around the neighborhood, many people have come up with interesting, innovative and attractive ways to “shield” the view. Members in attendance decided it would be worth while to try to come up with a list of folks who might be handy with repairs and other home projects who we could call upon for advice and assistance for these types of projects. We will follow up with this in a future newsletter. Due to popular demand, this year we will again be having an Easter Egg Hunt. It will be held on the Saturday before Easter, April 11, 2009, beginning at 10:30 am. Please check the marquee at the front park for additional information. This was an annual event for several years and many neighbors have lately been expressing their wish for some more fun, neighborhood, kid-friendly activities. All in all, we believe that the top goals of the association are to assist our neighbors by maintaining the public areas, keeping a watch out for potential problems relating to failure to follow deed restrictions and helping to cement our reputation as a safe, attractive and fun neighborhood in which to live. Just a reminder --- we’re still accepting new members --- please send in your $60 dues checks for 2009. You can mail them to our post office box or drop them in the internal mailbox at the marquee in the front park. Sincerely, Barbara Statum, President Annual Neighborhood Yard Sale Spring has Sprung! Time to get the closets cleaned out, go through the garage, and turn those unwanted items into treasure. That's right, This is the time to get charged up for our annual CCOBLNA yard sale Saturday April 18th. Start looking around now, de-cluttering is a good feeling especially when someone else would love to reuse it. How many of us need more organization? The trick is to start small and ask yourself, have I used this in the last year? Chances are if your answer is no, you probably won't use it in the next year either. Start a space where you can add more items and before you know it you will have a great yard sale. The more people we have participating in this the better success we will have. SHRED DAY APRIL 18, 2009 • 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM Austin High School Parking Lot Sponsored by ARMA and The City of Austin Solid Waste Services With the increased awareness of identity theft, it’s important to dispose of personal records carefully. To highlight this, the ARMA is offering Free shredding for citizens. ARMA, a non-profit organization, is the leading authority on managing records and information. Households can bring up to five file boxes for shredding. Mobile shredding trucks will be provided by Austin Shred a Balcones Resources Company, Centex Shred Inc., Certified Shred and Iron Mountain Secure Shredding. ARMA International represents professionals in the field of information and records management. Its primary purpose is the advancement of records and information management through education and professional development. In lieu of a fee for the service, monetary donations will be accepted for the Capital Area Food Bank. For more information contact, Jannette Goodall, City Records Manager, Office of the City Clerk, Records Management Services at P.O. Box 1088; Austin, TX 78767; 512-974-9045, Fax: 512-974-2374.
