Welcome to the first quarterly newsletter for your area, produced by Rushmoor Borough Council with the support

of local partners, working in your neighbourhood.

We’ve been doing lots with residents and partners over the last three years, to improve your neighbourhood, after recognising that some areas need a bit of extra support. Housing associations, voluntary organisations, Safer Neighbourhood teams and Rushmoor Borough Council staff have been focusing on the area in their work as part of the Cherywood Plan. Local people have been encouraged to take pride and responsibility for their area by reporting things that are not right or getting involved through community clean ups, Prospect Estate Big Local (PEBL), volunteering or just simply joining a local club. You can read about some of this in this newsletter – we hope you enjoy it!

You will be able to find out what’s going on, seek advice, join a local club or find out more about what is happening during Cherrywood Week when the local community safety team will be organising events for you to attend.

Tackling graffitiand fly-tippingTackling graffitiand fly-tippingGraffiti is ugly and can make the area look uncared for. It’s also a crime!

We remove graffiti from public spaces, but in most cases, it’s the property owner who’s responsible for removing it. We can help private residents by arranging removal at a lower cost.

Fly-tipping is another problem and we’ve seen a big increase in the Cherrywood area!

If you have large items to get rid of, you can take them to the household waste recycling centre in Eelmoor Road or contact us for a bulky waste collection - just go to:www.rushmoor.gov.uk/bulkywasteor call 01252 398 399(prices start from £19)

Please help us keep the area clean by reporting fly-tipping and graffiti to Rushmoor Borough Council:

Spend £1 million! We’ve got £1 million to improve the Prospect Estate, but we’d like your help to spend it!

We got some great ideas from residents, who responded to our survey and these are reflected in the six themes that will drive the improvements across the estate over the coming years.

Now, the Prospect Estate Big Local (PEBL) team is looking for residents to be part of the improvements. We already have 100 residents who might be interested in joining in, so don’t miss this great opportunity.
