Dr Euwe became Chess Champion of Holland at the age of twenty and in 1935 became World Champion in a match with Alexander Alekhine, a title he held for two years. He is internationally known as a chess theorist and analyst, is the author of over seventy books on chess and is now President of FIDE (Federation Internationale des Echecs).DR WALTER MEIDEN is Professor of Romance Languages at the Ohio State University. He took his first degree at the University of Michigan, and received an M.A. and a Ph.D. from Ohio State university. His experience as a teacher includes a wartime assignment to the united States Naval Academy, 1943-1946, where he instructed in French, Spanish, and German.
