The roots of Chesterton Humberts date back to the initial founding of Chesterton in1805, at the time that Nelson won Trafalgar and Britain’s naval supremacy ruled foranother 150 years. 37 years later Humberts was established just after Queen Victoriastarted her 61 years of rule. Recent history has been perhaps less enduring, havingbeen punctuated by unpopular wars, political sleaze and sadly financial chaos, but thebringing together of Chesterton and Humberts in early 2009 does, we hope,represent the beginning of the next chapter in yet another 200 years of our history.
