Since 2010, the Chestnut Ridge Conservancy has been successfully raising funds and awareness for Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park, NY.

The Conservancy is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit corporation. Our mission is to support the restoration and preservation of the rich natural, recreational, and historic resources that comprise Chestnut Ridge Park.

2017 is an exciting year for us. Beginning in May, we have a full slate of events scheduled, which equates to outstanding sponsorship opportunities for companies, organizations, and interested individuals.

Our signature event for this year is our first-ever Civil War Reenactment in August, which we are calling The Battle of Chestnut Ridge. This event will offer extraordinary exposure to sponsoring entities and your financial support will help a very worthy cause.

Draws are open to all ages — Men’s & Women’s Singles, Doubles, Mixed DoublesEntry fee is $25 (singles) and $12.50 each (doubles) to enter, plus a $1 administrative fee added to each transaction.

AttendanceIn 2016 there were 120 players and approximately 200 spectators at this four-day event.

Free Outdoor Movies On the Hill

Event DescriptionBack for the seventh year, the Chestnut Ridge Conservancy will be showing two free animated movies on the Chestnut Ridge Park sledding hill. • Sunday August 20: Disney’s Ratatouille

The Conservancy sells refreshments before and during the movie. If weather is an issue, we move the screen inside the casino.

Event DescriptionThis is the first time for a Civil War Reenactment in any of Erie County’s parks. Attendance We are expecting about 300 reenactors to participate this year. Those familiar with these events estimate the potential of 2,000 spectators per day. There will be plenty of pre-event advertising and press coverage in an effort to maximize attendance.

Artify the ParkSeptember 23, 2017

Event DescriptionAfter a successful premiere in 2016, Artify the Park is back again!In this free interactive event, the Conservancy invites local and regional artists to come to Chestnut Ridge Park and set up their studios. Artists create, paint, sculpt, and photograph in the park. The public is invited to come out and sit with the artists, ask questions, and learn by doing.The 2016 event included painting, clay and stone sculpting, photography lessons, dog paw print art, paper making, basket making, needlecrafts, mandalas, sun prints, and plenty of opportunities for hands-on crafts for guests from 4 to 104. Lunch is provided to our participating artists free of charge. Guests can purchase hot dogs and snacks.

AttendanceIn our first year, estimated attendance was about 150 people. With more publicity in 2017, we expect between 300 and 500 guests.

Event DescriptionAfter a very successful first attempt in 2016, the CRC is proud to bring this free event back again.The public is invited to bring their own kites or purchase kites from the Conservancy at this free outdoor family event. If weather is an issue, we have established the following Saturday for a rain date.The event is a great opportunity for families to put away their tablets and smartphones and spend some time together outdoors.

Attendance2016 attendance was estimated at 100 flyers. Ages ranged from young children to seniors.
