Since 2011, 161 not-for-profits(NFPs) have applied for CPD’s totallyfree Force For Good (FFG) services.
WHAT IS FORCE FOR GOOD?
Understanding the importance of governmentand community working together to createsafe neighborhoods, and the potential ofChicago’s community and faith-based NFPs tomeet community needs, CPD and its partnersare pleased to announce that applications arebeing accepted to participate in the 4th roundof FFG programming since 2011.
WHAT IS FORCE FOR GOOD?
This unique 6-12 month program is designedto provide free capacity-building training forNFP executive leaders serving Chicagocommunities experiencing high rates of violentcrime. FFG Applications will be accepted fromThursday, Feb 25th through noon on Thursday,Mar 25th.
WHAT IS FORCE FOR GOOD?
Funded by U.S. Department of Justice grants, FFG has providedcapacity-building support to 80 competitively selected NFPs toimprove their ability to deliver such services as: emergencyshelter, clothing and food; youth tutoring, mentoring andstructured activities in safe places; immigration issuesadvocacy; veterans support; economic development;counseling; job training and placement; conflict resolution;childcare; exposure to the arts; court advocacy/legal support;activities to strengthen community cohesion and resilience;reentry support – and more.
WHAT IS FORCE FOR GOOD?
FFG is designed to provide the Executive Leadership ofcompetitively selected NFPs with the skill sets, knowledge,insights and supports they need to successfully meet thechallenges faced by their organizations. Over 12 months, FFGwill provide skill-building workshops, technical assistance andmentorship in areas including: Working with the City toImprove Public Safety and Community Services;Marketing/Branding/Communication; Board Development; Useof Technology and Social Media; Strategic Planning; ProjectManagement; and Fundraising.

ELIGIBIL ITY CRITERIA
Must be a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) thatserves Chicago communities experiencinghigher than average rates of violent crimeMust provide services that reasonably addressviolent crime, those who commit violent crimes,or the underlying conditions that contribute to highviolent crime ratesMust have been in existence for three or more yearsMust have the capacity to commit to a 6 to 12-month period of active FFG participationMust not be debarred from doing business with theCity of Chicago
