CELEBRATING CHICAGO SHAKESPEARE THEATER’S DIVERSE BODY OF WORK
Guided by the creative vision of Artistic Director Barbara Gaines and the entrepreneurial
spirit of Executive Director Criss Henderson, Chicago Shakespeare Theater is an internationally
renowned theater and leading cultural institution. We are deeply honored to have Chicago’s
civic and business leaders gathered together in celebration at GALA 2013, and for the
longstanding support of our family of donors who ensure that the Spirit of Shakespeare
is alive at our home on Navy Pier, in the schools and community, and across the world.
Each season, the curtain rises on more than 600 performances at our theaters on Navy Pier. As Chicago’s home for Shakespeare, we are proud to produce extraordinary productions for audiences of all ages.
Team Shakespeare, CST’s nationally recognized education initiative, annually introduces more than 40,000 students to Shakespeare in performance. Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks impacts thousands of Chicagoans, bringing a professional production, free for all, to parks across the city’s diverse neighborhoods.
Refl ective of Chicago’s position as a global city, our World’s Stage Series imports the leading international companies to Chicagoand exports our work to theater festivals around the world.
