MEET THE STAFFWho produces the photo shoots, designs the magazine and makes this whole thing possible? Well here are some of them.

Grace Avila, Editor-in-Chief

Julian Garcia, Fashion Director

Christine Hetherly, Sponsor

T wo years ago, I fell head-over-heels in love with fashion after reading an iconic September issue of Vogue, and after awhile, I

didn’t feel my hunger for fashion was being fed, so I created The Fashion Tribe of Harlandale High. With the help of my sponsor Christine Hetherly and the devotion of a few key members, I fashioned a club that strived to inspire creativity in personal style, as well as a yearning to do whatever it takes to get a career in fashion. So if you have fresh ideas or just want to see what we’re all about, stop by our next meeting (meeting info. on pg. 5). We’re always open to new tastes and delectable concepts. Anything that is new and unexplored territory, is exactly what The Fashion Tribe is into.

I wish to thank everyone who contributed to the stunning success of the HHS Fashion Tribe & Chief Couture. There are very few high

schools in San Antonio that have a fashion club, and the fact that our school not only has a club, but a magazine as well, puts us well on top of excit-ing opportunities available to high school students. Chief Couture is The Fashion Tribe’s remarkable, student-produced fashion magazine. I had no idea how far our club and magazine would come in just one short year. If you are interested in fashion design, styling, modeling, or hair and make up, I strongly urge you to come to our meetings and photo shoots. The ex-perience you will receive will be great to build your college and work re-sumes, as well as allow you to make friends with a wide variety of peo-ple, so come strut your stuff with us on the cat walk! And remember . . . Lights! Cameras! Fashion!

C hief Couture is a trendy, student-run fashion magazine. Through out the magazine you can find the latest trends and the most in-

teresting articles. The magazine gives you a glimpse at designer clothes, as well as a slew of affordable clothes, accessories, and shoes! It even features some of the best makeup, as well as how to wear it and when to wear it. The fashion spreads and beauty shoots produced by Harlandale’s own are done for three purposes: 1) Showing off the latest fash-ion trends 2) showing you what’s hot in hair and makeup and 3) teaching you how to apply them to your personal style afford-ably and chicly. Chief Couture is a must-read all the time, any time!

Editorial The best books, music, movies & more -

and all about Vampires!

How to unleash your inner

Step 1A vampiress never doubts herself. Never. After some rational thought, she makes up her mind and sticks to it. She has confidence within herself - too much to be uneasy or insecure.

Step 2Be bold! Do your hair how-ever you’d like, wear what makes you feel beautiful. Do not pay any mind to that guy who makes silly re-marks, because the truth is he’s probably never opened a Vogue magazine in his life; he wouldn’t know style if it bit him on the neck.

Step 3 Be wise when it comes to guys. Strong vampiresses don’t fall for the guy who’s dating your best friend

by Gabriela LopezBeauty Director Vamp!S he’s calm, cool, and collective. She has the pres-

ence of timelessness, and is absolutely irresist-ible. When entering a room all eyes are on her, the area becomes silent, and everyone is mesmerized. She is stun-ning with her extravagance and intimidating to the highest level. Who is this dazzling woman? Vampiress of course! We’ve witnessed her in television shows, mov-ies and books throughout time. The stunning, elegant creature has all the men head over feet but does not care one bit what all of us females secretly aspire to be. As unattainable as it might sound, we all too can posses the power of the Vampiress. It comes from within, so reach into your mother’s purse, grab her boldest red lipstick and follow these four easy steps to reaching your inner Vamp.

and winks at you when she turns the other way, or the guy who only gives com-pliments based on body parts. No ma’am! Set your standards high and stick to them. I guarantee the results will be satisfying.

Step 4Intelligence is appealing. A lady Vamp has probably lived for ages, so she’s ob-tained quite the education. She can relate to anyone, and converse with other intellects. Those girls who dumb themselves down to get male attention need some serious therapy. Being told, “At least you’re pretty,” is not a compliment. Because you’re not just pretty- you’re smart, unique, and talent-ed. You’re powerful.ddd

T he horror punk band of our time. No,

don’t run away. I know when you think "punk," you think fast beats that sound the same in every song. This is not true for Calabrese. Not only do they have cool songs about zombies, vam-pires, monsters, and ghouls, but each one of there songs has it's own feel. Their sound has been compared to that of The Misfits, Ramones, Damned, and early A.F.I. This band is made up of brothers Bobby, Jimmy, and Davey Calabrese. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona these three have been gracing us with there music since 2003, when they released their first al-bum “13 Halloweens”. The self-proclaimed “World’s GREATEST Horror Rock

Band” is living up to their title, after becoming inter-nationally recognized Cala-brese released their second album in 2007 called “The Traveling Vampire show”. They are set to release their new album some time this year, however, they're doing things a little bit different. They are having an album name contest where fans can send in album name recom-mendations. To do this just visit there website www.calabreserock.com for more details. The winner will be announced on Halloween. When I saw Calabrese live, my jaw dropped, because not only were they appeal-ing to my ears, I was also amazed by the way they dressed. These men looked as if they had walked straight out of the 50’s. They wore tight pants, leather jackets, and slicked back hair. Their style was a cher-ry on top of what is alreadyone delicious performance.
