Personal  Safety  has  four  goals,  all  of  which  require  listening  and  responding  to  children:  

1.  To  give  low-­‐risk  children  addi*onal  skills  for  preven*on  

2.  To  give  high-­‐risk  children  the  opportunity  to  tell  

3.  To  give  abused  children  who  will  never  tell,  the  informa*on  to  help  them  deal  with  their  problem,  especially  that  the  abuse  was  not  their  fault  

4.   To   teach   children   today   boundaries   in   order   to   prevent   them  from  becoming  the  offenders  of  tomorrow

How  is  PSL  being  Conducted?  •  PSL  is  provided  over  an  average  of  10  hours  in  school  or  2-­‐3  months  if  taught  at  least  once  a  week.  

•  One   session   of   PSL   lasts   for   about   20   to   45  minutes.  

•  A   PTA   mee*ng   is   scheduled   prior   to   the  beginning   of   PSL   classes   for   parents   to   raise  ques*ons.

Who  teaches  PSL?  

ONLY  THOSE  TRAINED  IN  PSL  AND  USE  OF  THE  MATERIALS  WILL  BE  ABLE  TO

and  principals
