PRINCIPALS REPORT

Final Weeks for Year 12 A letter has been sent to Year 12 families outlining important dates for events such as the Farewell Assembly and the Formal. We are committed to celebrating these important milestones, they just may look different to previous years. I encourage our Year 12 students to stay focused, seek help from teachers and follow a strong study program. Remember we are all here to help. Voluntary Contributions 2020 At the last Budget Committee meeting a motion was passed to remove the Voluntary Contribution fee from invoices for the 2020 school year. As a school we recognise our community has experienced bushfires, COVID-19 and now a downturn in the economy and hope this gesture goes a little way of easing financial commitments. Families will still be invoiced for subject specific fees but I urge any families needing further financial support to contact me at school on 66321300. Aurora College Applications for Aurora College for Years 8, 9 and 10 open today. If you wish to have the information including application forms emailed to you, please contact the Front Office. Basketball Court If you are driving past, please take a moment to stop and look at our new Basketball Court. Fully funded by the Department, the covered basketball court has been resurfaced while the outer court which was incredibly dangerous with the uneven surface, has been completely re-concreted and then surfaced to match the existing court. We should be on the courts and using these amazing facilities at the beginning of Term 3. Year Excursions As soon as excursions are back on the approved list, Kyogle HS will be organising a reward excursions for each Years 7-10. At this stage we are looking at a trip to the beach for beach games and a BBQ lunch to help year groups reconnect and have fun together after the prolonged Learning from Home and lockdown period. These excursions will have nil cost for students. Have a great fortnight and thank you for your continued support.

P&C ASSOCIATION

Term 2 is quickly coming to a close. We are still currently unable to hold P&C meetings at school. We will look at what next Term is like before we set a meeting date and might have to look at having it off school grounds.

Please continue to support the uniform shop and canteen.

Stay well Melinda McCormick - President

TECHNOLOGICAL AND APPLIED STUDIES

Eagerly returning to practical cooking lessons, this week Stage 5 Food Technology were surprised with an extra prac lesson making Chocolate Mousse in Pastry Bowls. Students are study 'food trends' this term, so we played around with the concept of the "bowl" being part of the food and experimenting with our presentation skills. Yummy!!
