Vegetables

It isn’t easy being green!Alotofvegetablesaregreen:asparagus,greenbeans,broccoli,Brusselssprouts,cabbage,lettuce,greenpeas,spinach

andzucchini,tonamejustafew.Whenpeoplethinkaboutvegetables,theyoftenjustthink“green.”Sosometimesit

seemslikegreenvegetablesareboring.Kids,especially,cangettiredofeatinggreen.Butvegetablescomeinawide

varietyofcolors!Differentcoloredvegetables,likeorangeacornsquashordeepredbeets,canbebeautifulontheir

own,oryoucanmixvariouscoloredvegetablestogetherforahealthychangeofpace.

reality,applesandorangeshavealotincommon:

vitamins,whichmayhelploweryourriskofdiabetesandheartdisease.

TheUSDArecommendsthatyoumakehalfthegrainsyoueatwholegrains,suchaswhole-wheatbreadandpasta,
