Presenting Our New Series: Marky Polo’s Travels!

This little book describes the past, present and future of black holes through a funny and engaging storyinvolving Grandpa Louie, his two grandchildren and two of their friends.

During a beautiful sunny day on the beach, the children play, swim, enjoy their time, and ask a lot ofquestions to Grandpa Louie, a retired astronomy professor. Who better than him to tell all the secrets ofblack holes to a group of curious children? Who discovered them? What do "black holes" mean? Are theredifferent types of black holes? How does a black hole form? What is his fate? How did scientists manageto "observe" these celestial bodies which, by definition, cannot be seen? At the end, we also bring up thesubject of parallel universes, which could exist beyond the horizon of a black hole.

Marky Polo's hybrid picture book series is written for children between 3-8 years old, to reach preschoolers andreluctant readers. This series blends the traditional Picture Book structure with elements from comic books andearly readers, from humorous, pacy conversations of early readers to the use of speech bubbles and comicbook panels across some pages.

Wins in LifeBy: Joanne H Lim (The Right Perspective, Singapore) Illustrated by: Hong Shin Quek

Meme the Monkey

The purpose of this book is to invite you and your child to think about what "winning in life" actually means. This isparticularly important in a world that is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA). In a fast-changing world, there are no "maps" because no one has gone that way before. When there are no "maps", weneed a good inner "compass" to guide us in life — this "compass" comprises the values that make us better humanbeings. The right values will also prepare your child for the world of big data and digitalization. To survive andthrive in this world, your child must not only excel at technology, but also at humanity because after totalefficiency is achieved via technology, the value of any business or organisation will be contingent on human andother non-digitalisable elements such as purpose and empathy.
