CHILE DOVE MEN+CARE OPEN TALKING POINTS

• The Latin American Golden Swing will once again feature an ATP 250 tournament in Santiago, Chile. It will be the first time that Chile has hosted an ATP Tour tournament since 2014 in Vina Del Mar (2001-2009, 2012-14). Santiago also previously staged a tour-level event between 1993-2000, 2010-11.

• Top seeded Cristian Garin is returning to his birthplace and home in Santiago in best possible form having won back-to-back ATP titles in the past two weeks. Yesterday, the 23-year-old won the biggest title of his career at the ATP 500 event in Rio de Janeiro (d. Mager in the final). He also claimed the Cordoba crown two weeks ago (d. Schwartzman in the final). He joins Gael Monfils and Andrey Rublev to have won two ATP Tour titles this season. The Santiago resident is enjoying a career-high No. 18 in FedEx ATP Rankings having broken into the Top 20 this week for the first time in his career. When winning his first career title in Houston last year Garin became the first Chilean champion on the ATP Tour since Fernando Gonzalez was victorious on home soil at Vina del Mar in 2009.

• Second seeded Casper Ruud is another in-form player in this week's draw having captured his first career ATP Tour title the week before last in Buenos Aires. He made history becoming the first Norwegian to win an ATP Tour title. Ruud is also the highest ranked Norwegian ever having reached a FedEx ATP career-high ranking of No. 34 last week (stands at No. 38 this week). He surpassed his father Christian, who had reached a career-high of No. 39 in October 1995.

• Three of the Golden Swing Top 6 Win Leaders of the past decade will appear in the 2020 Chile Dove Men+Care Open. No. 3 seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas (yet to win a title in Latin America) shares the Golden Swing match wins lead with 46 victories with No. 4 seed Pablo Cuevas. The Uruguayan is looking for his fifth title during the Swing. No. 7 seed Federico Delbonis has 36 victories under his belt in Latin America and is looking to add to his 2014 title in Sao Paulo.
