3. LOW WATER TEMPERATURE3.2 Addition of Ethylene Glycol or Propylene Glycol
WARNING!!WARNING!!
Outlet water Temp.(ºC) Required ethylene glycol (wt%) Brine freezing Temp.(ºC)
Low 1 (4 ~ 0ºC) 20 -7
Low 2 (-1 ~ -5ºC) 30 -13
Low 3 (-6 ~ -10ºC) 40 -22
To operate a chiller at water outlet temperatures under 5ºC, Ethylene Glycol or Propylene Glycol has to be added to avoid freezing of water cooler
Since water composition is changed, heat absorption capacity and viscosity also changes, so final capacity and water flow have to be recalculated
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
3. LOW WATER TEMPERATURE3.3 Unit modifications: Silicone sealant to compressor
Silicone sealant is applied to compressor terminals, bolts and pressure ports to avoid condensation and ice formation that would bring to compressor leaks
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
3. LOW WATER TEMPERATURE3.3 Unit modifications: Low 2 / 3 Suction pipe insulation
To avoid condensation, water dripping and loss of cooling capacity, insulation is added to suction piping from compressor to cooler and from cooler to expansion valve.
(WG2 and CLG2 units have suction pipe insulation as standard)

5. COPPER FIN CONDENSER (AG2)For some special applications, e.g. saline environment, it might be necessary to use copper fins in order to avoid corrosion. In addition, main parts of the condenser are coated with anti corrosion paint.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
• Maximum outdoor operating temperature is reduced to 41ºC.• Capacity is reduced slightly (like operating at +3ºC higher ambient).• Overall weight from the chiller is increased by the Cu-Cu option.
5. COPPER FIN CONDENSER (AG2)
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
6. REFRIGERANT CYCLE6.1 Suction and/or Discharge Valves
To be able to close the refrigerant cycle and make easy compressor maintenance, ball valves can be installed in the compressor suction and/or discharge pipes.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
6. REFRIGERANT CYCLE6.2 Compressor Safety Valve or Dual Safety Valve
Safety Valve is added to compressor for high overpressure release. Can be a dual valve also.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
6. REFRIGERANT CYCLE6.3 Dual Safety Valve
Two safety valves are installed in parallel at compressor discharge pipe. The 3-way valve switches to choose which of the 2 valves is in operation. This way is possible to replace one valve without having to refill refrigerant.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
6. REFRIGERANT CYCLE6.4 Suction Pressure Relief Valve (WG2, CLG2)
An additional Safety Valve is added to suction side for high overpressure release.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
6. REFRIGERANT CYCLE6.5 Suction Pipe Insulation
To avoid condensation, water dripping and loss of cooling capacity, suction pipe is insulated from compressor to cooler and from cooler to expansion valve. (WG2 and CLG2 units have suction pipe insulation as standard)
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
6. REFRIGERANT CYCLE6.6 Heat Recovery (AG2)
In order to recover condensing heat rejection, a Plate Heat Exchanger is added to compressor discharge pipe. This way, is possible to use discharge gas to heat up water during cooling operation:
• Can recover up to 30 ~ 35% of the cooling operation (depends of model)• It is possible to get 70ºC hot water at maximum capacity• Water pipe connection: 1” ext. Use discharge superheat
Note:Heat recovery capacity relayon the cooling demand to the unit.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
7. WATER COOLER7.1 PN16 Flange
Easy to install PN16 flange with Victaulic system adapter.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
7. WATER COOLER7.2 Differential Pressure Switch
A Differential pressure Switch is installed to detect pressure difference between water inlet and outlet. If there isn’t enough water flow it won’t let compressors to operate to avoid water freezing.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
7. WATER COOLER7.3 Water Flow Switch
A Water Flow Switch is delivered into the E-Box for mounting at the water pipe of the unit. If there isn’t enough water flow it won’t let compressors to operate to avoid water freezing.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
7. WATER COOLER7.4 Water Cooler Heater
To protect evaporator from freezing, an electric heater is installed at both sides to heat it up at low ambient temperatures. When the temperature falls below 2ºC is activated.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
7. WATER COOLER7.5 Common Water Pipe (AG2, WG2)
A common pipe is installed in order to have just one water inlet and outlet on units with 2 or more plate heat exchangers.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
7. WATER COOLER7.6 Water Pressure Port (AG2)
Inlet and outlet water pipes have connections so pressure gauges can be installed to measure inlet and outlet water pressure of each cooler.
Not compatible with:- Common Water Pipe- PN16 Flange
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
7. WATER COOLER7.7 Water Strainer
Water Strainer have to be installed always at the water inlet of the chiller. A 16 or 20 mesh (1-2 or 3-5 cycles) water strainer can be supplied as option.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
7. WATER COOLER7.8 Stainless Steel Water Pipe
This option consists in using stainless steel (AISI 304) pipes instead of carbon steel pipes for reducing corrosion for the water pipes.
Not compatible with:- Heat Pump operation (WG2)- Common Water Pipe- PN16 Flange- DPSW- Pressure Port
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
8. SPECIAL OPERATION8.1 Heat Pump Operation (WG2)
To provide hot water from water cooled chillers, this allow to control the chiller by condenser water temperature when changing operation mode to heating.
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
Changes in PCBb settings are applied as follows:
8. SPECIAL OPERATION8.1 Heat Pump Operation (WG2)
II. CHILLER OPTIONS
8. SPECIAL OPERATION8.1 Heat Pump Operation (WG2)
There are NOT reversible cycles (no 4-way valves). Cold and warm side are kept on the same side always. When needed to heat and cool over the same heat user, hydraulic have to be designed according the necessities.
