Chimney rebuild

Scope of Works

We were called to site to attend to a Chimney on a 3 storey Grade 2 listed

building in Wolverhampton town centre, the chimney was in a

precarious position with sections falling onto the pedestrian area.

The chimney was in a dilapidated state with the stone work beyond repair, the pointing and brickwork

was all blown.

Chimney Pre works

We started by scaffolding and supporting the Chimney to ensure

the safety of both staff and pedestrians, we then secured the brickwork by netting around the

chimney.

We then broke down the Chimney into constituent parts to check if

any of the brickwork was still viable, we then removed the stonework which was beyond

repair

Stonework removed and secured

We removed the stones to a Local stonemason whose company made and installed the original stonework

over 100 years previously, these were then remade to the exact requirements

The works took a total of 6 weeks including the complete remake of all

the stonework from Scratch, the works were all carried out and inspected by the relevant authorities. The Chimney

is now ready for the next 100 years service.
