About the Tour

China has the largest population in the world, numbering around 1.35 billion, and is a huge market. The high levels of economic growth seen in recent decades has led to the development of a middle class which can afford and is keen to buy suitably packaged and presented consu-mer goods.

According to the China Packaging Federation, there are around 6,000 packaging companies in China, serving the domestic marketplace and increasingly involved in export activity. Between 2001 and 2010, exports of Chinese packaging machinery grew by a factor of nine to Euro 551m annually.

Are you interested in seeing China and its dynamic economy at first hand? Interested in doing business with Chinese companies and want to take a close look at the Chinese packaging market? We have compiled a well-balanced program which includes company visits, a full- day seminar on the Chinese packaging market and visits to universities to ensure you gather impressions from a range of perspectives. Additionally, we have set aside time to take in some of the key tourist highlights. All in all, our program is a first-class opportunity to see China and its packaging market in close up.

Sept 7th/8th Arrival in Beijing

Sept 8th Beijing Attraction Tour in Beijing (Summer Place, Forbidden City, Great Wall). Great overview of Chinese History. Enjoyment of Chinese Middle Autumn Day (Moon Festival).

Sept 9th Visit of Beijing Institute of Graphics (Printing and Packaging Lab). Company visits: Effem Foods (Mars) or Huiyuan (Nestlé)

Sept 10th China Seminar with the China Packaging Federation - Overview of the Chinese packaging market - Doing business in China- Networking and exchange of information with Chinese packaging companies

Sept 11th Company visits: Tetrapak, AmcorTravel with High Speed Train to Xuzhou (3 hrs).

Sept 12th Company visits: Stick packaging material company, Shouyi plastics film company.Visit to unique Plastic Film Museum.

Sept 13th Boat tour on lake with beautiful lotus flowers.Travel with High Speed Train to Hangzhou (3 hrs).

Sept 14th Company visit: Dingxing Group (Instant Noodles Kangshifu) Tour around West Lake, one of the most famous tourist destinations in China and UNESCO World Heritage.

Sept 15th Company visits: Bosch Packaging (Packaging Equipment), Wahaha Group (Beverages)Travel with High Speed Train to Shanghai (1 hr).

Sept 16th Visit of Shanghai Ocean University (Food Packaging Institute).Company visit: Henkel (largest industrial adhesives plant globally)Shanghai Tour (Huangpu River, Oriental Pearl Tower)

Dates: September 7th to 17th 2014 The China Packaging Tour starts in Beijing on Sept 8th and ends in Shanghai on Sept 17th at 5pm. The tourist program on Sept 8th is optional.

Hotels: Swiss Hotel Beijing, Xuzhou Kaiyuan Hotel, Hangzhou Sofiet Hotel, Shanghai World Expo Hotel or similar

Cost: EUR 2’575 (no VAT) Included: 9 accommodations (Sept 8th – 17th) in above mentioned hotels (double occupancy), all transports within China (company visits, high speed train), food and non-alcoholic beverages, tourist activities, guides in German and English

Optional: - additional day on Sept 8th (1 accommodation, tourist activities, food, transport): EUR 195 - single rooms: EUR 72 per night - additional night in Shanghai: double occupancy (EUR 75) or single occupancy (EUR 150) Not included: Flight to and from China, personal expenses, visa, personal travel insurance

The cost is calculated on the bases of a group size of 18 participants. IPI keeps the right to offer the tour at a small upcharge if there are less than 18 participants or cancel the tour latest 3 weeks before the tour.
