    Both holidays are centered around love,but Qixi celebrates more about finding it.

    Couples spend time together during theday and celebrate their relationship.

    Items such as flowers are purchased,

    though traditionally meant for offeringduring Qixi.

    Loved ones gather together to celebrate theday with each other.

    Families hold feasts and consume special

    foods; during Dongzhi, families will eatTangyuan and Jiuniang, both made withglutinous rice.

    May have originally started as worshipfestivals.

    Traditional foods, such Mooncakes inChina and Tteok in Korea, are eatenduring the period.

    QINGMING FESTIVAL()

    AND ALL SOULSS DAY

    People some times come together tocollectively pray for and show respect fordeceased loved ones and for theirancestors.

    Food and flowers, as well as other items,are offered/given to the dead loved ones.

    Offerings are made to ancestors andfamily in graveyards or at home alters, thecase during All Souls Day and some

    oversea Chinese population.
