OriginIn the mid 20th century.'Russian Scandal' or 'Russian Gossip'.It derives from the party game in UK.One person whispers a message to the person next to them. The story is then passed progressively to several others, with inaccuracies accumulating as the game goes on.

MeaningInaccurately transmitted gossip.A sequence of repetitions of a story. Each one differing slightly from the original. The final telling bears only a scant resemblance to the original.Amusement obtained from the last player's announcement of the story they heard.PreparationWrite a few messages down on paper that consist of at least ten words. The message can be serious or downright silly. Be sure it is legible.

ProcedureSplit the class into 4 teams to do a competition.Get the pupils to stand in four lines. The first pupil in each team comes forward to read the message quietly (10 seconds, etc.)After the 10 seconds, they have to start passing the message to the next persons.Last person raises his hand when the team finish passing the message.

ProcedureThe fastest team to pass the message accurately gains marks. It can be done in a few rounds.
