Laura contemplating taking over the world.It has always amazed me how thoughtful and considerate my daughter can be. That is why I choose her as a subject for my chit chat . She was going to help me narrate this but decided instead that her stuffed animals needed an adventure in her make believe land . She also decided to send a card to an elderly lady friend of hers at church. Still don’t know why she wanted to but how could I say no?

Are you sure you want me to do that? I mean really really sure.

I don’t know for certain that she will be a lawyer but she sure does like to ask enough questions to be one. Anytime she wants something or has an idea that she knows she will ne permission for she is always sure to get as exact an answer as a 5yr old can get.

Luara on the go!It is sometimes very hard to catch her in between dance moves or karate moves or sometimes an absolutely wonderful combination of the two. We will spin, twirl, jump, kick, slash, and he-yah her way all over the house.

Dad are you sure you teach Science?When she decided that she wanted to have a Science themed birthday party I was the proudest daddy around. Who would have known that her idea of a scientist was a animated PBS character and that I would have to reach way down into my Science teacher bag of tricks to impress her and her friends.

LooksIt is obvious that she gets her good looks from her mother! Here we are after a dance recital that she totally rocked! She was a bit disappointed that she wasn’t allowed to use any karate kicks in the show. But a few pink roses from daddy smoothed everything over.

We shall name him Hank!Her grandparents Namma and Pappa live on the farm still and decided that Laura needed a farm dog of her very own. We sat outside this day and made up Hank the Cow Dog stories that went on and on. I never realized how much fun could be had spending the afternoon on a pink blanket rewriting a beloved children’s series with a new puppy. The day ended with both her and the puppy falling asleep for a short nap.

But why do they keep running back and forth?When we went to her first home football game there was once again a million and one questions about what was really going on. Daddy who are the guys in the stripped shirts? Why isn’t the ball round? How come the won’t let everyone play? Why won’t they let everyone touch the ball? Just who wrote these rules anyway?

Ok Daddy Now This is Why We are Really here!Getting to cheer at a for real football game is huge when you are five years old. Of course mother nature doesn’t always play fair on the big occasions. When the thunder and lightning made us clear the stadium in the middle of her very first cheer performance ever all she could say was. “I Got Ripped Off” It took quite a bit of consoling from mom to make it all better that night.

Why Yes!We Are Both Cute and Beautiful At the Same Time.With a new sister on the way life is about to change in a big way for my little princess. It was her idea to get a picture of all three of daddies girls. “But you won’t love the new baby more than me will you?” or “How can one daddy have enough love for two princesses?” These have become the new most important questions ever!

PAPA THEY MOOOOOVED!!!

This was one of the proudest days for her Pappa! While they had the greatest of times catching them and putting them into the bucket the end of the day was a bit much for the littlest farm girl princes.

Why Sure My Daddy is Proud of Me!This is a horribly centered picture but what she said to the person taking it will make it a priceless moment in time. The photographer asked her if she thought her daddy would be proud of her when she walked down the isle as a flower girl. She looked him square in the eye and said “Why sure he will be proud of me that’s his job isn’t it?”

Splash Down in 3…. 2…. 1….Daddy! Daddy1 Daddy! Who would ever have guessed that being a dance dad would be this much fun. We always hear about the soccer moms, the hockey moms, or even the Nascar dads, but how about a little love for the dance dads?

Oh Yeah This is ALLL Mine!It wasn’t too long after I bought the Jeep that Laura informed me that I needed to get it painted pink so that it will be ready for her when she gets big enough to drive it next year. She was a bit disappointed when I had to tell her it would be a few years longer than that.

Why yes I am a very lucky guy!Not only do I have a smart attractive and beautiful wife I also have a daughter who can take wicked good pictures with her mommas camera. We were walking in the zoo when she hollered “Wait This would be perfect” and had us stand in front of the flowers while she took our picture.

Our Favorite Thing.Once she got the fishing bug it has been hard to keep her from the water. Even on days like this when we don’t catch anything she is still happy as can be. This was a great day where I picked her up from school with the rods loaded and we went right to the pond.

I AM PULLING!Pull, Pull, Pull. Of course her version of this photo is much funnier. When I showed her this picture and asked her what she remembered about that day show told me without missing a beat that this was the day Daddy should have skipped breakfast and maybe she could have pulled me. What a girl.

This is where the hook goes mommy.We were showing mom how to put the worms on a hook for the very first time. She was extremely detailed in showing momma how to hold it, where the sharp part goes and even how to say your sorry to the worm for tasting so good to the fishies.

Watch the bobber momma!One of the best things about having a daughter who loves fishing is that she finally got my wife to go fishing with us. Laura was all over showing her mommy how to turn the crank and “Don’t look away from the bobber momma they wait for that and then make it hide.”

See mommy I knew you could do it!

This was a great day even if I did get skunked. Laura and Andra both caught several good sized fish that day and I all I caught was bait. But I did have both my girls out on the water and loved every minute of it.

Good Bye!I tried to think of how the last slide should be ended when Laura wondered by and asked me what I was writing. I told her that I was writing a script about her to read for my Chit Chat project. After answering the all the why questions about college classes and why daddy is taking them, she said “why not just ask for a good grade because I am so cute? “ How could I ever think of something better?
