Welcome to ChitteringCome and meet friendly locals and see where Perth’s food originates from when you experience our Chittering Farm Flavour Trail.
Easy to find, travel along Great Northern Highway and onto Chittering Road to enjoy our beautiful Tourist Drive through the stunning Chittering Valley, discover a winery or two and then explore beyond to unearth a bounty of fresh produce from the region.
With many seasonal produce options, such as citrus, mangoes, avocados, honey, eggs, stonefruit, nuts, asparagus, goats cheese and wine there is always something flavoursome on offer direct from the farmgate.
With so much seasonal produce you may need more than one visit to appreciate the different colours and flavours of Chittering.

Nesci Estate was established in 1948by Antonio and Carmelina Nesci, whenthey cleared the land by hand andplanted the first grape vines. Edmund Rice College has approx. 600 trees planted in 1948 with Verdale and Sevillano as the main varieties. The College olives are pickled in a secret mix of herbs and spices.Our olive oil has won awards at the Perth Royal Show and is a boutique oil with a unique flavour ideal to use as a dressing for salads or drizzled on fresh bread. Grown at the college and harvested by students and staff and sold locally, exclusive to the Chittering Visitor Centre.

Avalon Farm is a commercial mangoand avocado producer. Their fruit isrenowned for superior flavour andsweetness. These qualities are dueto the slow maturing time, for thesenormally tropical fruits, in the coolersouthern climate.

Chittering area has always beenrenowned for producing tasty citrusand the mandarins produced by Chrisand Margaret Oversby are known to bethe best flavoured fruit that money canbuy. Grown in the rich red soils 2 kmsnorth of Bindoon, they are sold at thefarm gate - look out for the green VWKombi Van. Bags or boxes - some otherseasonal fruits also available.

Behold the Aspara-van. Colleen andPeter established their asparagusventure in 2015 with 500 crowns and this has grown to 11,000. Growing inrich Bindoon soil our aim was to produceflavoursome asparagus, picked freshto eat fresh, limiting carbon miles. Oneof nature’s richest sources of vitamins,minerals and fibre, a tasty and healthyfood. Meet the growers, see asparagusin production and collect recipe ideas.

Other things to do & seeThere are many seasonal roadside stalls dotted throughout the region. Make sure you drop into the Settlement Road stall just north of Bindoon for year round local produce. During the winter months there are citrus stalls through Bindoon and through the Chittering Valley including Golden Grove Citrus Orchard on Chittering Road.
