The 3 provinces of Maniema, Sud-Kivu and Nord-Kivu accounted for 2/3 of the total cholera cases of 2015. However, recently, the epidemiological situation in the former Katanga province has become alarming and potentially explosive with the important outbreaks in Likasi area; the worry is for it to spread to cholera hotspots in Haut-Lomami and Tanganyika.
