It is a global system of intercon-nected computer networks that use the standard Internet protocol suite and it serves billions of users world wide.

This consists of millions of net-works such as private, public, aca-demic, business, and government networks etc.

The Internet is decentralized by design.

Internet is possible to gain access through a commercial Internet Service Provider (ISP).

What is Internet?

No one actually owns the Internet, and no single person or organiza-tion controls the Internet in its en-tirely.

The Internet is more of a concept than an actual tangible entity, and it relies on a physical infrastructure that connects network to other networks.

Simply, when billions of network joins together it becomes an inter-net.

Who owns the In-ternet?

The Internet protocol suite is the set of basic communication language/protocol used for the Internet.

TCP/IP are two different types of layer program, where the higher level TCP receives and manages the assembling of a message or file into smaller packets that are transmitted over the Internet. Then the lower level IP handles the address part of each packets into the original stage.

TCP stands for Transmission Control Protocol and IP stands for Internet Protocol. TCP/IP are known as the most important protocols.

Finding information using Directory Services- Directory Services identifies all resources on a network include e-mail addresses. Computers, and peripheral devices such as printers.

Finding Information using a Web Address- It locates an entity (such as a person, business, or organization) presence on the internet. In tech speak, the domain name is the representation of the numeric IP Address assigned to individual computers.

Finding Information using a Search Engine- It is designed to search information on the WWW. The results are generally presented in a list.

Searching the web using keywords: Search Terms Advanced Search Syntax
