Problems with PK fertilizers on soils

In spite of right contents of PK in soils:

P isn’t available (retro gradation)

K is absorbed in the CAH or lixiviated in sandy soils

LOSSES OF YIELD AND QUALITY !

PK imbalance in the plant needs

bad use of nitrogen fertilization

To choose PO4 or PO3 as Phosphorous source?

Phosphoric acid (H3PO4):source of phosphate

Phosphorous acid (H3PO3):source of TRAFOS RANGE

(Potassium Phosphite based products)

Trafos range contains one less oxygen molecule as opposed to traditional phosphates and other PK fertilizers. Trafos range doesn’t contain phosphoric acid.

Page 5: Choose how you want to harvest your crop. 2 1.Introduction: PK fertility 2.Phosphite advantages 3.Nutritional effect, advantages 4.“Vaccine” effect, advantages

5

Trafos advantages:

To choose PO4 or PO3 as Phosphorous source?

Greater Solubility

Quick assimilation of P, K and micro nutrients

Total Mobility inside the plant

Fast translocation in both directions (ascending and downward)

Easy to use; Easy to apply

Absorption via the roots and the leaves; foliar application or fertigation

Greater Efficiency

Without salt formation when mixed with Mg++ and Ca++

Carrier of all the micro nutrients (Mg, Ca, Fe, Cu, Mn, Zn, B, Mo)

Inocuity

Inoffensive for the mycorrhizes of the soil

Page 6: Choose how you want to harvest your crop. 2 1.Introduction: PK fertility 2.Phosphite advantages 3.Nutritional effect, advantages 4.“Vaccine” effect, advantages

6

Nutritional effect : Twice as efficient

By applying Phosphorous in a high-energy form

and Potassium in a form that is easily assimilated by the plants

• Covers the needs of P and K during periods of maximum Need

• Stimulates vegetative growth and root Activity

• Better flowering and fruit setting

• Improves fruit Quality (color, size and sugar content)

• More Yield, more Rentability

Page 7: Choose how you want to harvest your crop. 2 1.Introduction: PK fertility 2.Phosphite advantages 3.Nutritional effect, advantages 4.“Vaccine” effect, advantages

7

Nutritional effect : Twice as efficient

Phosphorus plays an important energetic role in the plant :

• During the root formation

• During all roots development cycle

• During flowering and fruit setting

In wet and dry conditions, the application of P allows:

• to diminish Phosphorus blockings at soil level

• to maintain the rate of growth

• to avoid any delay at harvest P - P +

Phosphorous : Source of Energy

Page 8: Choose how you want to harvest your crop. 2 1.Introduction: PK fertility 2.Phosphite advantages 3.Nutritional effect, advantages 4.“Vaccine” effect, advantages

8

Nutritional effect : Twice as efficient

Potassium is linked to a high performing agriculture.

A good nutrition in K:

• Ensures photosynthesis, the synthesis of sugars and pigments, • Increases the use of the nitrogen from the soil and helps in its transformation into proteins,• Increases resistance to the water and cold stress thanks to the maintenance of turgidity, • Supports the transport of sugars in the parts of storage: fruits, tubers, roots or wood. K - K +

Potassium : Quality crops

9

Nutritional effect : Twice as efficient

Specific answer to plant needs

Trafos range makes it possible to supplement the formula with Mg-EDTA and Ca-EDTA thus creating a synergy between this nutritive elements, sometimes antagonistic.

Trafos range is also enriched with micro nutrients:

• EDTA chelates (Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn)

• Salts (B, Mo)

Ca, Mg, B, Fe, Mn, Zn & Mo: Nutritional balance

The chelates synthesized by Tradecorp are recognized for their stability of pH, their compatibility and their agronomic effectiveness

Page 10: Choose how you want to harvest your crop. 2 1.Introduction: PK fertility 2.Phosphite advantages 3.Nutritional effect, advantages 4.“Vaccine” effect, advantages

10

Vaccine effect : Fortify your crops naturally

Trafos range acts in a similar way to a vaccine, by stimulating the crop’s immune response to different diseases.Stimulate the plant’s natural defenses, encouraging phytoalexin synthesis and other substances with fungicide or bactericide action.

2 ways of action in the plant:

1. DIRECT ACTION: stimulating phytoalexin synthesis

modification of the cellular walls of the fungi and inhibiting the spores formation

reaction of over-sensitiveness (isolation of the zone already reached)

2. DEEPER ACTION : phytoalexins accumulation

inducing messengers of the resistance mechanisms:

- systemic resistance acquire against the primary pathogens- induced resistance against new pathogens

How act Trafos range?

Trafos Sinergy

Trafos Sinergy stimulates significantly Phytoalexins activity (Peroxidases) in strawberry against Oidium.

Trafos Sinergy activate natural defenses mechanisms in plants.

Trial made by BBV, 2008, France.

Group of organic compounds responsible of the defensive response of plants against microorganisms like fungi and bacteria (e.g. Scoparone in citrus fruit against Phytophtora or Peroxidase in strawberry against Oidium)

12

Vaccine effect : Fortify your crops naturally

Great efficiency against:

• Trafos range stimulate the plant’s induced resistance to attacks from certain pathogenic fungi (e.g. Phytophtora spp.) and foliar mildius (Plamospora viticola, Pseudoperonospora cubensis, Bremia sp., etc.).

• Strengthen the trunk, roots and rhizomes against attacks from phytophtora in the soil, preventing it from entering and developing certain diseases.

• Help to prevent and reduce bacterial attacks such as Pseudomonas sp. and Erwinia sp.

Vaccine effect : Fortify your crops naturally

• Trafos Range has a systemic activity, upward and downward

• Trafos Range is very mobile and uptaked by roots and leaves

15

How to use?

• Minimum rate 4 l/ha

• Efficacity limited on time, an application is effective during 7 to 12 days. Split applications.

• Combine or alternate with a standard fungicide to reinforce the effect

• In some particular cases, protection can be extended over 30 days. It depends on the vigor of the disease and the environmental factors

• Apply early in the season to gain a maximum of profit from phosphorus action

Page 16: Choose how you want to harvest your crop. 2 1.Introduction: PK fertility 2.Phosphite advantages 3.Nutritional effect, advantages 4.“Vaccine” effect, advantages

16

How to use?

• Do not treat if temperature is below 5 °C or if there is a risk of decrease in temperature below 5°C in the 4 hours after pulverization

• Compatible with the majority of the agrochemicals, except for the products containing copper

• In the 15 days following an application of copper protection, the Trafos range improves the penetration of copper in the leaves (risk of phytotoxicity to copper)

• Higher the level of intensification is, more effective and profitable is Trafos

Concluding, Trafos Range, Twice as efficient :

SECURITY FOR YOUR CROPSA vaccine effect by stimulating natural defences of the plant,A preventive effect has been demonstrated in many cases,A curative action was shown in some cases but Trafos remains less effective compared to conventional fungicide treatments.

RENTABILITY FOR YOUR HARVESTImproves fruit Quality (color, size and sugar content) and earlier harvests,An increase in the post-harvest health and quality of the fruit,A better flowering and fruit setting, generating also a green effect.

EASY TO USEBasic solution in Integrated Production Strategies,Absorption via the roots and the leaves; foliar or soil application,Excellent compatibility.
