This booklet could not have been written without the materials and the schools of the Crimson Circle. I wish to thank the members of the Crimson Council for helping us humans to remember our ori-gins and potentials.

I also wish to thank Geoffrey and Linda Hoppe for the work they have done since 1999, that brought me in contact with the Crimson Circle materials, and their gracious invitation to become part of their dream and life work: to inspire human consciousness. I will always remember and cherish our first encounter during the 2005 Multi Di-mensional Camelot Tour.

I deeply honor my partner, Yvette, and my three children, Chloë, Wessel and Elvira, for patiently allowing me to practice what I learned, stumbling, making mistakes and eventually transforming myself in this life time to the I Am that I Am.

I would like to thank Jean Tinder for helping me edit and proof this booklet. Jean is a very talented person and I feel privileged to work to-gether with her. That also applies to the other members of the Crimson Circle Energy Company staff. The passion and joy they radiate is an inspiration not only to me, but to many people all over the world.

Finally, I want to acknowledge my buddy, now called Chesto. He has been very supportive and I will never have another dog like him.

When I was asked to speak at the Crimson Circle Midsummer New Energy Conference in Hamburg, in August 2008, I decided to share with the audience my experiences and insights about abun-dance. Abundance is a major issue for most people, whether they are Lightworkers, Shaumbra, New Agers or whatever else they call them-selves. Like them, I had been struggling with it for many, many years, until about two years ago when I was able to completely turn things around. I felt a great desire and pleasure to share what I had discov-ered because it was so simple, yet life changing at the same time.

The presentation time in Hamburg was only thirty minutes and af-terwards I felt that there was so much more to share and explain. I had only scratched the surface and because of the time constraints had to leave so much out that I decided to write about my experiences.

This booklet will not offer you brilliant investment ideas. Experienc-ing abundance is something completely different than being wealthy, as I will explain. If you are looking for suggestions and ideas to be-come rich quickly, I strongly advise you not to purchase this booklet.

However, if you are interested in reading about someone’s per-sonal journey, integrating the spiritual teachings of the Crimson Circle in your life, and learning how this can allow you to experience “flow” and abundance, then this booklet is definitely for you.

Preface

Have you ever experienced the feeling that, notwithstanding the income you have, you never seem to have enough to cover your ex-penses or do the things you want to do? That every time you have some money saved, more bills arrive in some strange and mysterious way to use up your savings? That you feel panic or depression com-ing up when you receive that large “unexpected” bill for which you don’t have the cash? That you know you have to change things but whatever you have tried, nothing worked? I have experienced it all, many times.

Strangely enough it was not the lack of income that made me struggle with abundance. After university, I quickly made a good ca-reer and always earned more money than most of my friends. Never-theless, I seldom had the feeling that I was abundant.

So, what was keeping me from feeling abundant while earning plenty of money? I tried several things to feel abundant. I used bud-geting, but with me it never worked the way it was supposed to. Later I realized that I cheated myself many times by not including all the expenses that I had. That was apparently too confrontational.

I tried creating more income through investing, only to find myself losing a lot of money on the stock market. And of course I tried cutting expenses. Isn’t that the sure way to create abundance? When your income or salary is fixed at a certain level, economic theory explains that the simple way to create a surplus is to ensure that your costs remain below your income and then abundance will be yours. The only thing left was to decide which expenses to cut, and there the real problem started. I had to choose and I discovered that I usually shied

away from the consequences.

So, how did I turn all this around and how was I able to obtain this holy grail called abundance? In the next chapters I will use my personal experiences and insights to explain the difference between abundance and having money, and the issues that you will typically encounter when you want abundance to come into your life. In every chapter, I have also included an opportunity for you to reflect on your own experiences, and thereby become aware of what may keep you from feeling abundant.

Finally, I offer you some resources that were important and very helpful in my personal transformation process and which eventually helped me to understand what abundance really is and how to experi-ence it in a continuous way.

“Much coin, much care.” (Old English Proverb)

I will never forget one of my banking clients who had over €20 million in stocks, bonds and cash deposits and lived comfortably on a beautiful yacht on the Cote d’Azur, in the south of France. He had sold his company for a large amount of money and never needed to work again. With the help of our investment managers he achieved an an-nual return of approximately 8% on his investments, or in other words, he had approximately €1.6 million of income every year.

Around that time, in 1994, I was general manager of an offshore bank in the Caribbean and we had many wealthy customers for whom we managed investments. The financial markets went through some turmoil and, on paper, this particular client was losing substantial amounts of money. I emphasize ‘on paper’ because he did not need to sell any of his investments. And, despite these temporary paper losses, he would still have his €1.6 million annual income. Neverthe-less, our client panicked. He called our investment managers every day, asking if he would have enough money to buy his groceries, pay for his crew, insurances and other costs. Notwithstanding our assur-ances that he had plenty of money, now and also in the future, he kept on calling us.

At the time I had to laugh about this poor man, who had more mon-ey than all of us together, and still was so concerned about whether he could survive. I realized later on that this was a perfect example of hav-ing a lot of money and things, but not feeling abundant.

For many years, if I am honest, I had a similar issue. Having a

much higher income than many of my friends and colleagues, still I worried most of the time about money and I rarely felt abundant. Of course, I had my moments that I did feel abundant, or at least what I thought abundant was.

The first time that I remember was when I finished university and started to work for a bank in 1982. Having had to pay my own way through university, I could not believe the amount of money that was deposited in my bank account after the first month in the job. I felt in-credibly rich, with more money to spend than I had ever had before.

However, after a few months, I started to adjust my spending be-havior. I bought a “new” car ( a second hand Fiat 128 sports car, which was an incredible joy after having driven around in a 12 year old VW Beetle that had only cost €200), bought nice clothes, went dining with friends and much more. With the increased spending, my feeling of abundance very quickly faded.

Then I decided to get married and buy a house. It was the first big financial commitment I made and I was worried like never before, especially after our first child was born. But as my banking career took off, money became less of an issue – until I started to adjust my level of spending again.

An interesting cycle started to emerge. Every time my income in-creased, the more I started to spend and the less abundant I felt, until the next promotion. Even after I became general manager of this off-shore bank and most of my expenses such as housing, school fees, vacation, etc., were paid for, I was able to eventually spend more than I earned. It was a dubious pleasure to be invited, after one year on this Caribbean island to a special BBQ party, organized by the biggest lo-cal bank in honor of the top three customers that had used the bank’s local credit card the most.

The other moment I felt abundant, for a slightly longer period, was after we sold our house in 2001. We made a very large profit after just five years because of the booming real estate market. I had never had so much money in the bank. And what did we do? Indeed, spend. We bought ourselves a huge villa in a very nice area, bought very expen-

sive cars and started to keep horses.

In the next five years we completely blew away our money, partly because of some bad investment advice from the bank, but mainly just because of spending too much. Notwithstanding the cash reserves and the very good salary I had at the time, I was not able to keep up. Every month I had to increase the borrowing against my investments or sell some off. I felt an increasing despair.

How on earth could I earn so much money and every time create a situation that made me feel completely miserable? It started to influ-ence my relationship with my wife and children. I told them they were to blame. I accused them of spending too much of my money with riding horses, wanting to go on expensive holidays, not once but three times a year, wanting to dine out every week. It was surely their fault that I was feeling so concerned and frustrated all the time. I remember several occasions where I actually felt so lost that I cried.

Initially, I thought that I should just have more financial discipline. But in the end, after having gone through so many cycles and at-tempts to straighten things out, I came to the conclusion that it was something else. It had to do with me and I had to change something more fundamental within myself. But what?

Page 13: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

Before you start answering the questions below, I invite you to do some breathing. Take a few deep breaths and once you feel relaxed, open and expanded, go through the following questions. There are no good or bad answers. This is just to stimulate your awareness and help you get in touch with your inner feelings about abundance.

1. Write down a list of things that you think will make you feel abundant.

2. Write down a list of things or circumstances that prevent you from feeling abundant.

3. Now have a look at both lists and feel into the essence of what these things or circumstances actually represent. For example, if you wrote down that you want a lot of money, it may actually represent your desire to choose and do whatever you like. Or if you wrote that your boss is not paying you enough it may represent a feeling of not being appreciated.

After you have played with these questions you may want to con-sider going for a hike or sitting beside a river or lake and reflecting some more on your feelings regarding abundance and your current circumstances. Don’t make this too much of a mental exercise but try to connect with your feelings. Your feelings will provide you with the key for change.

Looking at your circumstances: Do you feel angry or victim-ized right now? Do you perhaps feel depleted or scared? Are you feeling depressed about your current lack of abundance?

When you feel your mind racing, your feelings being blocked or strong emotions coming to the surface, do some more breathing until you feel the flow again. Don’t be surprised if, after a few days when you’re not thinking about it anymore, you get more and deeper insights. On the next page you can write down notes about your thoughts and feelings.

“When you are born as a dime, you never become a quarter.” (Old Dutch Proverb)

In my work for the Crimson Circle Energy Company, I have the pleasure of working closely together with Geoffrey Hoppe, founder of the Company and channeler for all the information that is made available. Every now and then we enjoy the literal translation of Dutch proverbs into English, as the result can sound very funny. However, sometimes even the literal translation makes perfect sense.

When it comes to money or abundance, each society has very clear ideas and perceptions. And, as one of my former colleagues, a marketeer, said: perception is reality. These ideas and percep-tions are sometimes so strong that they indeed create a mass belief system to which most people unconsciously subscribe and then allow their lives to be influenced by it.

In our Dutch society you are expected and praised to sacrifice everything in favor of your children. You are also expected to honor and keep the commitments that you have made with others, even if it becomes detrimental to yourself. There is also a reluctance to accept the gifts of others, especially if they are big and you didn’t “earn” them. As the Dutch literally say when you give them some-thing, “You shouldn’t have done that.” The Dutch are generally suspicious when it comes to bigger gifts because they know that “only the sun rises for free,” which is similar to the American ex-

Mass Beliefs and Overlays

18

pression, “There’s no such thing as a free lunch.”

Another important belief system is that in order to be success-ful and abundant, you need to have the best education and work hard, very hard. Finally, our society has very defined ideas about what abundance is. Basically the belief is that you are only abun-dant when you have a lot of money and assets. Of course, as I’m sure you have noticed, most of these beliefs are not unique to the Dutch people, for they can be found in all modern societies.

Now, how do these mass beliefs affect you in your daily life? And more importantly, how can they prevent you from experiencing abun-dance? Let me give you a few examples from my own experience.

In 1990, my wife and I had just moved to a new house and had our third child. I was working as a banker in the film industry at the time, which was an incredible experience and I still cherish some unique memories. One of my clients was a German film distributor. He was born in a Jewish family who, before the Second World War, owned a chain of cinemas. He was the only survivor of his family and after the war he settled in Germany. He had been quite suc-cessful in the film industry and I very much enjoyed working with him. Not only was he a very nice business man, but he was also a very gentle and wise person.

Our working relationship quickly evolved into a personal friend-ship and I believe that at a certain point in time he even considered me as the son he never had. I shared many of my problems with him (at the time I was going through a difficult period in my mar-riage) and he was always there to listen and provide me with a different perspective of things.

One day we were talking about the fact that I had problems with my car, which was becoming less and less reliable, and he said that he would love to give me a new car. He stated that with small children I should have the safest and most spacious family car around. At first I thought he was joking, but it became clear very

Page 19: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

19

quickly that he was dead serious.

Now you have to understand that in the film business I was used to receiving gifts, e.g. expensive watches, cases of cham-pagne, free trips, etc., but this was totally different. Moreover, the banking industry had started to be more critical about gifts from clients, so I felt very uneasy about the whole situation. Could I just accept this enormous gift? What if my boss would find out? Would my superiors understand the special nature of the relation-ship between the customer and myself? What if my client might come back later and ask me to do something I did not want to or could not do?

I had never felt so uneasy when abundance was knocking at my door, asking permission to come into in my life. But yes, in the end, after a long period of hesitation, I did accept his gift and I very much enjoyed driving that luxurious car. However, the problem was that I continued to feel very uncomfortable, like something bad was hanging over my head with potentially disastrous consequences. Have you ever received a gift and felt that way? It is very strange.

I continued my banking career and we ended up living in a very nice neighborhood. Now, I was confronted with some other belief systems, such as how to behave when you are supposedly suc-cessful. There were clear expectations about which streets to live on, as certain streets were much more desirable than others, and even within a street you had good and bad sides. Of course, you were supposed to have the latest design furniture in your home, and extend and renovate your house on a regular basis. You were expected to become a member of certain clubs and your kids could only play tennis and field hockey at those clubs. When you did not go on a skiing holiday at least once – but preferably twice – a year, people would start wondering if you were fired from your job.

In this environment it was also expected that you were active in charity or community work. Many of our neighbors and friends

Page 20: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

20

did unpaid work for churches, community centers, sports clubs, etc., even if they did not like it so much. One day, I found myself going from door to door in the neighborhood to collect money for the Dutch Heart Foundation. I had promised myself to never do this again after my time in the boy scouts “begging” for money during the Christmas time for the poor homeless people. But there I was.

Even though by that time I had developed some non-conformist aspects, living in this neighborhood made it difficult for me to sepa-rate myself and not live up to certain expectations. Being part of that community did, however, also reinforce feelings of being suc-cessful and even being superior. But, as a result, I saw my spend-ing behavior dramatically influenced by the “social agenda” around me and I found myself regularly worrying over money matters.

After I left my job in the financial industry in 2002, I started work-ing as a risk management consultant and eventually became a dis-tributor for a U.S. company that specialized in software solutions for big companies. Slowly but surely, I got more and more assignments, and I very much enjoyed the freedom that working as a consultant brought me. The disadvantage was of course that my income was directly linked to – and limited by – the number of hours that I was working for my clients. At least that was what I thought.

It was in June, 2005, after a few slow months with hardly any consulting work, that I closed one of my first big software licens-ing deals on which I earned a commission of 40%. Notwithstand-ing the large amount of money that I received, which had actually required very little effort on my part, I felt very uneasy because I had done almost no work. It was a very strange sensation to have received the single biggest “paycheck” in my life, only to feel that I had not worked hard enough for it. It was only later that that I re-alized and accepted that I did not need to work very hard to earn large amounts of money.

When we sold our house in 2005, my wife and I decided to

Page 21: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

21

live apart for a period of time. I had rented myself an old cottage in a small holiday resort. The interior was outdated and sparsely furnished. Compared to the big luxurious villa we used to live in most people would say that I was going back to a very simple if not poor lifestyle. But you know what? I felt very comfortable in my new situation and in a way that intrigued our friends. But the pressure to find something more “acceptable” was mounting, especially from our children, and eventually my wife and I decided to rent a nice home again.

The more I reflected on my own situation, the more it became clear to me that I had allowed mass belief systems and the opin-ions and expectations of others to influence my life. But more im-portantly, I realized that the key, or the problem, was that I was the one who made the choices and therefore I was the one who was keeping myself from experiencing abundance. This realization started to fundamentally shift my perspective of things. Let me give you some examples.

I had sworn to myself that my children would never have to work their way through university like I did. And, as a good father, I kept my word, even though it was very costly, and notwithstanding the fact that in the Netherlands students have all kinds of financial support arrangements from the government that would have al-lowed me to reduce my financial commitment without too much adverse effect to my children. So it was my choice to continue to operate as their ATM machine.

As a side note, at a certain point I started to realize that my commitment to them, better described as pampering, prevented my children from having certain valuable experiences that I had while working during my time in university. More importantly, I dis-covered that I was interfering in, or at least delaying, their ability to take responsibility for their own life.

In the past, I had also stated that I would support any hobbies

Page 22: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

22

of my children as long as I could afford it. Now the question, of course, is what does it mean “as long as I can afford it”? To put things in perspective: the children’s horses and everything related to them eventually required about 25% of my net income. For a very long time I subordinated my own needs to theirs. This was very much in line with the belief system that I talked about earlier about giving up everything for your children. To put yourself first would be considered very egotistical and self centered, attributes that are not very positively looked upon in the Dutch society. The idea was that I should be happy seeing my children being happy – but I did not feel that way.

I had this nagging feeling that I was robbing myself of the op-portunity to enjoy myself and spend money on things that I wanted. The result was a growing frustration and an increased feeling that my children were preventing me from feeling abundant. It became quite distorted and as you can understand, this resentment started to influence the interactions with my children and my wife. But then again, had I not agreed to buy the horses in the first place? I could have said no, couldn’t I?

When you marry, you formally promise to take care of each other, in good times and bad times, “until death do you part.” My wife never had to complain about anything, for I always provided her with what she needed and more. However, over the years we increasingly quarreled over money matters. I felt that she spent way too much on shoes, clothing, make-up, interior decorations, etc. I only had three pair of shoes, why would she need 30? At a point the discussions became very ugly and I threatened to leave her, but I didn’t. I had the total freedom to choose living on my own, not needing to worry anymore about the spending behavior of someone else. So, why didn’t I?

Does this sound familiar to you, that feeling of obligation to put others first? Have you made promises or commitments in the past

Page 23: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

23

that are now causing you a financial or an emotional drain and, when you contemplate changing things, you feel blocks and con-straints resulting in an increased level of frustration?

For me the big question became: how could I change things without feeling guilty? If I really had a choice, irrespective of what others may think or expect, why didn’t I choose to experience life and abundance the way I wanted it? Was there something else, besides the mass consciousness beliefs I had subscribed to, that was interfering?

Page 24: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

Remember, there are no good or bad answers. This is just to stimulate your awareness and help you get in touch with your inner feelings about abundance.

“Money is a good servant, but a bad master.” (Old Dutch proverb)

It took me a long time to realize why I continued certain situations in my life. When looking back, I have to admit that in some weird way I apparently liked the feeling of being a victim. Otherwise why continue with something that made me feel miserable? It was an aspect of me that I could not understand.

I had never heard of aspects until Tobias talked about them in his Aspectology school. Aspects, he explains, are parts of our core, our Soul, that are created to perform certain tasks or roles and thereby allow us to experience life in all kinds of ways. For example, you have an aspect that knows how to drive a car, an aspect that knows how to work on the computer, as well as aspects that are a husband or wife, a parent, a business person or a musician. Even a past life can still be an aspect of you.

Does this sound a little strange? Well consider this: How many times have you observed yourself acting differently in front of your parents than in front of your children, friends or colleagues? How many times do people say that someone is completely different at work than when you meet them in private? The difference is explained by the various aspects that a person has and shows to the outside world. According to Tobias each of us has thousands and thousands of aspects.

Aspects are generally very well integrated. They help a person

cope with life in an easy and effective way. But aspects can also be-come wounded or even disassociated. That usually happens after se-rious emotional or traumatic experiences e.g. a divorce, an accident, physical abuse, an illness, an incident at school, etc. Such an aspect can show itself in behavior which is unbalanced, e.g. a person who always acts as a victim, the “poor me.” In more serious cases such aspects may even result in phobic behavior, such as having a fear of elevators or flying.

I started to understand that besides dealing with the influence of mass consciousness, I had apparently also created an aspect that was interfering in my life when it came to abundance. But did I have a remembrance of any incidents that could have created such aspect? Yes, in fact I did.

When I was about to go to university, my father told me that he would no longer support me financially. He told me that his father had left him on his own when he had finished school, which forced him to go to work instead of continuing his education. He had felt deprived and spiteful, especially when later his youngest brother was allowed to go to college. He apparently did not want me to have it the easy way either. I could not believe what I was hearing. My father, a successful business man with plenty of money, refusing to help me?

I considered the situation and then quickly prepared Plan B. I would fill out an application for a government scholarship and get an interest free loan. This would only require my father to sign and confirm on the form that he did not wish to financially support me. I thought I had the whole situation under control. Surely, he would cooperate with that? It was just one signature.

With the form I went to my father and asked him to sign it. He read it and he said, “I am never going to sign something like that in my life.” He flatly refused. I felt completely betrayed and extremely angry. I found him totally unreasonable and my trust in him completely disappeared.

After being thrown off initially, I came up with Plan C. I would go to my grandfather, also a successful business man, to ask him for support. I was named after him and we always had a very special relationship. However he also refused to help me. His reason? He did not want to go against my father and undermine his decision.

I was furious and decided to make things work on my own. I worked and studied day and night. When other students were going to drink beer at the café, I was attending evening classes. When oth-ers were going for a summer holiday, I prepared myself for exams of the following year. To make a long story short, notwithstanding all my jobs, I obtained my law degree in slightly over three years, while most others needed five years or more. But then again, they had had all the fun. After I completed university I did not talk to my father or grandfa-ther again for years.

I recognized later that this episode had deeply influenced my re-lationship with money. When I was still living at home with my parents there always seemed to be plenty and I had nothing to worry about. However, during my years in university I had to be very careful and plan ahead. I also had to “sacrifice” my joy because I could not afford to be a frivolous spender.

Money had become synonymous with struggle and iron discipline. Later, when I started to have more money, it showed up in ambivalent behavior. On the one hand, I would be very scared not to have enough, feeling deprived when others needed or claimed my money. On the other hand, I would sometimes spend a big amount on something that was not really necessary, just to demonstrate to myself that I could do it and that I was worth it. However, in those situations I would very quickly develop feelings of guilt, regret, waste and a sort of depression after I had spent the money, especially when others started to criticize what I had done. This had truly become an unbalanced aspect.

Tobias explains that aspects can be very strong and can make you feel that you are not really in control. You find yourself repeating

Page 31: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

31

behavior you would like to discontinue, but in some weird way you are not able to bring a stop to it. However, “fighting” your aspects will only make them stronger, according to Tobias. So the only alternative is to accept and integrate them. But after 25 years, how on earth would I be able to do that?

Before you start answering the questions below, I invite you to do some breathing. Take a few deep breaths and once you feel relaxed, open and expanded, go through the following questions. There are no good or bad answers. This is just to stimulate your awareness and help you get in touch with your inner feelings about abundance.

1. Identify and write down any situations in your life when you had a bad or traumatic experience with money, whether in your youth or when you were an adult. Look for any events from the past that still trigger certain feelings within you about money.

2. Identify and write down any behavior that you have with re-gard to money that you or others may find unbalanced.

3. Now have a look at both lists and feel if there is a connection or a relationship between the two.

After you have played with these questions you may want to con-sider going for a hike or sitting beside a river or lake to reflect some more on these questions. Don’t make this too much of a mental exer-cise but try to connect with your feelings. Your feelings will provide you with the key for change.

If you identified some unbalanced behavior within yourself

regarding money, would you be able or willing to accept this as-pect of yourself? Does this aspect make you feel uncomfortable or angry? Do you feel a victim?

On the following pages you can write down notes about your in-sights and feelings.

“When you stop choosing, you stop being a creator.” (Adamus Saint-Germain)

I had never thought about “conscious choices” until I came across Adamus Saint-Germain’s New Energy Synchrotize material. Of course, I had made many, many choices in my life. Most of them had a rela-tively small impact – what to eat, what hobbies to have, which clothes to wear, etc. And then there were the bigger choices, such as which job to take, whom to marry, whether to have kids or not, to buy or rent a house and so on. When I look back I must admit that I made most choices in an unconscious way. Of course I was trained to analyze the consequences of choices, prepare financial projections, assess the risks, etc., but I never really made a truly conscious choice. Let me give you some examples.

When I was about eighteen years old I promised myself not to marry before I was thirty, only to find myself the first among my friends to be married at twenty-two. The truth is that my wife asked me to marry her and it did not occur to me that I had a real choice after dat-ing her for three years. No, she was not pregnant, if that’s what you are thinking.

I did not necessarily want to have children, but within a year after we married I became a dad. Having children almost seemed an auto-matic consequence of being married, especially in those days. At least that is how it felt to me. And my wife really wanted to be a mom, so what do you do?

The Power of Choice

Page 37: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

37

Then one day, at the age of forty-six, after reading the Synchro-tize material, I realized what a conscious choice really was. A con-scious choice is a high level choice that you make wholeheartedly, deep within your being, accepting whatever consequence your choice will have. It was an exhilarating and joyous discovery. This may sound strange to you but for the first time in my life I had the feeling and inner knowingness that I indeed had a real choice, whatever the situation or circumstances may be.

However, that initial joy was very quickly overshadowed with doubts and concerns when I started to think again about the conse-quences. Suppose I would choose no longer to pay for the horses of my children? It would probably mean that they had to give up this hobby which meant a great deal to them. Of course it would save me a lot of money, but what would they think of me? Chances are that they would be extremely angry and disappointed with me, and my wife would feel that I had deserted my kids and broken my old promises to them. Perhaps my family would not talk to me anymore.

This really made me think twice. Who am I to disrupt someone else’s life just by choosing for myself? It would be the most egotistical thing to do, my mind said. But then I also realized that any choice or decision I would make, by its very nature, would impact others. And, by making my choices dependable on the outcome for others would I not in fact create a prison for myself, with very little room to maneu-ver? This didn’t feel right to me.

Pondering some more, it dawned on me that the big difference would actually be the essence of my choice. Was I choosing for me, or was I choosing for somebody else? I felt that as long as I was consciously choosing for me, the choice would be clear and neutral in its energy and I would be able to accept the consequences of my choices. If I would decide to stop paying for the hobbies of my children and they would no longer talk to me, than I would have to accept and respect that. That would be their choice.

Page 38: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

38

With this new insight I started, slowly but surely, to practice mak-ing conscious choices. In the beginning I was very hesitant to explain my choices because it would sound so… yes it would sound so self-ish. One day, I actually decided to send a memo, like you would do in an office, rather than talk to my wife and my children. In three pages I explained to them what frustration I had had in the past years about my money situation and that I strongly felt the time had come for me to make some different choices in my life. Their reaction was mixed, part disbelief and part understanding. Over time, I became more clear and outspoken about my choices and had fewer problems in explaining my choices to family members or others.

The first major choice I made was to sell our house, which had been a financial drain for a long time. Although in our society we are made to believe that our house is our biggest asset, it actually is our biggest liability. If you read about the crisis in the American housing market you will understand why. To my surprise, my wife told me that she had actually never liked the house and that it was fine with her to sell it. My children were less enthusiastic. They feared the impact on their status amongst their friends, especially when I suggested that for the time being we would rent a small cottage in a nearby holiday resort. I respected their feelings, but it did not change my choice. So far, so good. But then the going got tough and much more emotional.

The next thing I announced was that I would stop paying for the horses. I told my wife and children that I no longer wanted to support this very expensive hobby and this decision caused a major row. My wife was in total disagreement and my two daughters were in shock. How on earth could I do that to them? Selling the house was one thing, but did I not understand how much these horses meant to them?

There were more decisions I made that impacted the family and to them it was increasingly clear that I had become a selfish bastard. To be honest, this was the most difficult period in my life. Would I back out? For me the answer was no. I remembered the moments that I had felt

Page 39: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

39

deep despair about my lack of abundance. At times I had felt completely lost and had cried, screamed and sobbed. Now I felt ready to choose for me, stick to my decisions and accept whatever the consequences.

Over time, several things happened. Initially, my wife stepped in to ensure that my daughters could continue to ride their horses, although this was a major financial undertaking, if not sacrifice, for her. She asked my eldest daughter, who had started to work in the meantime, to start paying some of the monthly costs. Although I had urged them to sell the horses rather than face financial hardship, I respected and accepted their decisions.

Then, my eldest daughter started to experience the importance of making clear and conscious choices herself. Her relationship with the boyfriend she was living with was coming to an end. She received critical reviews at work and was basically asked to make a choice between her hobby (she was working part time to have enough time to ride her horse) and her career. Her friends, who had plenty of time and opportunity to party and go on trips, made her realize that she had almost created a prison for herself with her very disciplined life that was completely focused on her horse, dog and boyfriend, in that order, and with almost no financial room for anything else.

She and I had long discussions about making choices and I en-couraged her to “follow her heart.” The results were astonishing. After she moved into her own apartment, which she “bumped into” without much effort, she decided to sell the horse, dispose of the dog and concentrate on her work. Within a very short period of time she found herself saving money, enjoying her work much more – where she was being offered new opportunities as well – and she had plenty of time with her friends.

Very quickly everybody around her saw a glow in her face and a sparkle in her eyes that had been gone for quite a while. Afterwards she told me that it had been an incredible experience to so quickly see the results after you make clear choices and how fast your life can

Page 40: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

40

change for the better, without any effort.

More and more it became clear to my family what I had meant when I said that I wanted to choose for me. It was not directed against them, although there were obviously some consequences they had to deal with. But in turn they discovered that they could also make choic-es, that it worked, and that it did change their lives for the better.

My wife and I had many discussions about choices when she was spending a holiday with me at Lake Tahoe in 2007. After months of doubt and ambivalent feelings about her work situation and life in gen-eral, she also started to make conscious choices. The result was that she very quickly began attracting more work than she could manage and regained the joy in her life. Many people commented about her radiance and energy.

Finally, there was my son. After failing twice at university because of too much partying, and being faced with my decision to withdraw his monthly allowance, he also started to make some conscious choices. One day over lunch he told me that he had decided to take on a new study and that he was determined to make it a success. He would find himself a job and with a government loan program he would make sure that he could pay for his education himself.

Initially I was a little skeptical, especially when I did not see him start looking for jobs immediately, but he explained that he would not accept just any job. He had very specific ideas what the job should look like, and indeed he very quickly found a very nice job that gave him plenty of room to plan his own schedule. He has now stepped into a much more balanced life style, his study results are very good and he admitted that he felt much better about what he was doing than he had in a long time.

This is all to show that what could have gone terribly “wrong” actu-ally ended up going very well, for everybody involved, all because of me choosing for myself and them choosing for themselves. Could it have gone completely the other way? Yes, if they would not have been

Page 41: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

41

able to make choices for themselves a lot of drama could have been created. But then again, that would have been their choice, not mine.

Besides the increasing comfort in making choices, I also noticed that I had accepted my past behavior. I did not need to deny it or justify it; it just was. I could understand why I had done it and what my role had been in everything I had done. I basically accepted the aspect of myself that had been ambivalent regarding money. And guess what? It enabled me to fundamentally break through the cycle that I had created.

There are no good or bad answers. This is just to stimulate your awareness and help you get in touch with your inner feelings about abundance.

1. Make a list of things that you would choose to do differently in your life if you would not have to worry about any of the consequences.

2. Make a list of the people who would be the most affected if you would only choose for you; or, to put it more commonly, if you became totally selfish.

3. Now have a look at both lists and identify any choices that you are not making because of others or because of fear of the con-sequences.

After you have played with these questions you may want to con-sider going for a hike or sitting beside a river or lake to reflect some more on these questions. deal with the consequences? Be really honest with yourself. Do you feel confident or uncertain? Do you feel certain obligations towards others or do you feel pity for those who would be af-fected?

“Expect changes in your life and bless them.” (Tobias in The Creator Series)

Choosing for you is not easy at first. It took me more than forty-six years to come to that point in my life. Besides the beliefs about selfish behavior to which I had unconsciously subscribed, it was also difficult because when you make fundamental choices it creates change and uncertainty. And dealing with uncertainty had always been a problem in my life. Many times it scared me away from embracing new oppor-tunities. Perhaps you recognize some of the situations that I encoun-tered in my life.

I still vividly remember when my film distribution client asked me to become his business partner. I was in my early thirties and really loved the film industry. My client was thinking about retirement and he told me that he would like for me to eventually take over his company. It would not only present me with the ideal job, but it would also mean a life of fun and abundance.

But instead of saying YES!, I started to make a mental list of all the risks and disadvantages that I could see. I did not look at the upside potentials or the fun, I only considered the downward risk. I was espe-cially taken aback by the uncertainty that would be involved in running such a business compared to being safely employed by a bank.

One night, when the two of us had dinner and discussed his pro-posal, I told him that I could not accept his offer and, much to his sur-

Page 47: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

47

prise, I began warning him about the risks and downward potentials for his company. That was the only time that I saw him angry with me, for all the right reasons. I was clearly not ready yet to deal with uncer-tainty in my life.

Another situation that I clearly remember when I was unable to deal with uncertainty was when I came back to the Netherlands after my stay in the Caribbean. The bank I worked for was taken over by another company and the director’s function that had been promised to me was no longer available. The bank paid me more than a year’s salary as part of a severance package and I was out of a job for the first time in 13 years. With plenty of money and the rent for our house still paid for by the bank, there was actually very little I needed to be concerned about. I felt really free for the first time since I started work-ing and I enjoyed the long daily walks with the dogs in a nearby forest. I felt on top of the world.

However, this feeling changed very quickly. My friends told me how difficult it was to find a job, especially when you returned from abroad as an expatriate, and my wife was also getting more concerned. As a result I became increasingly anxious and uncertain myself and after a few weeks I started to call headhunters. Of course, with my back-ground and experience, it took only a very short time before I was back in the banking business. Everybody around me was happy for me that I had quickly found a job again.

Even though I had not felt entirely comfortable about the job itself, I nevertheless accepted it. Of course it paid very good money but the work was not really something I was passionate about. It was very much a rational choice in the face of uncertainty and many friends actually told me that I had been smart not to have used the severance pay for a prolonged period of inactivity because it would have only made it more difficult to get back into a job and now I would still have a financial buffer in case of an emergency. However, within months I knew that I had made the biggest mistake in my life and for two years I

Page 48: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

48

struggled within the bank, switching positions several times but never feeling really happy – all because I had felt uncertain about eventually being able to find a new job.

This was a very valuable experience because it taught me not to let my choices be influenced by the uncertainty they create or the concerns of others, but only to listen to what I feel inside. And with my last employer I was able to put this into practice.

My last job was with a very large financial services company where I became Senior Vice President of Risk Management. It was one of the best jobs I ever had. It allowed me to travel extensively all over the world, I had wonderful and inspiring colleagues, my work was challenging, and the pay was good – very good. I stayed there for five years and loved almost every moment.

During this period there were several internal reorganizations which created a lot of uncertainty. We would often have private meet-ings with the CEO to discuss our future in the company and for some of my colleagues these conversations ended in lay-offs and dramatic personal changes. The funny thing was that I felt increasingly comfort-able in discussing my own position, notwithstanding all the uncertainty it created.

During one of those meetings, after I was four years on the job, I told the CEO that I felt it was time for me to do something different and that it was better for the company to have somebody else with a fresh perspective to take over my position. At that point I had not explored any alternatives but I felt very strongly that I had to do something different.

The CEO gave it some thought and asked me to get involved in an important strategic project. It would require me to work under one of my former colleagues but it presented a very interesting challenge and opportunity. I embarked on it with a passion and creativity that I had never seen in myself before. Unfortunately, my new boss felt increas-ingly threatened by my work and in the end our differences over the

Page 49: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

49

strategic direction to be pursued created a deadlock. The CEO, who believed in my new approach but was also a close personal friend of my boss, saw himself confronted with an impossible choice.

This time, unlike past experiences, I didn’t wait for others to decide about my future. I submitted a proposal to the CEO to establish my own company, a dream I had had for many years, and start working for him as a freelance consultant. I did not want a severance package, I just wanted some projects to work on. Relieved that the situation was solved for him, he readily accepted my proposal.

Having a very large mortgage, three children in school, and a very expensive lifestyle, many of my colleagues thought I had gone completely mad. How could I give up one of the best paying and safest jobs around, just like that? Although I felt somewhat anxious during this whole episode, I also felt a certainty and a knowingness that everything would work out well, and I actually felt very excited – something I had never experienced before in a situation that had so much uncertainty.

Then the ultimate test began. The first months at home after I left my job, I just enjoyed my free time. By the third month, my wife became slightly nervous, especially because no projects were yet coming my way. In the fourth month she really started to question my sanity and urged me to start calling headhunters to find a job again. However, I told her that I felt that there was something “just around the corner” about to manifest itself. I could not explain what it was exactly, but I told her that I had this clear gut feeling that everything would be taking shape quickly. I also knew that I should not make the same mistake as before and simply jump at any opportunity to make some money. She could not believe her ears. Was this the person that always analyzed his options and made sure that he had covered his risks and created back up plans just in case? Was this for real? How could I just sit there and trust my gut feeling?

For me this was one of the most important moments in my life. It

Page 50: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

50

was, as Tobias calls it, a Point of Separation. For the very first time I started not only to listen to my gut feeling, but also to trust and act on it. And indeed in the fifth month I got a big project that eventually not only brought me more money than ever before, but also opened the door to new potentials.

I have had to deal with change and uncertainty many, many times in my life. On average I switched between jobs every two or three years; I moved to a new house ten times; and I divorced and com-pletely redefined my relationship with my wife – who still is my partner. Looking back, I noticed that when I went through a change, notwith-standing the uncertainty that was involved, every time something bet-ter and more appropriate emerged for that particular phase in my life.

So to me change has become a welcome attribute in my life and as Tobias said in The Creator Series (see Chapter 7), I can now “dance with whatever comes to my front door.” It is only through change that you can create new potentials in your life. Now the question is: are you ready for change? Really ready?

There are no good or bad answers. This is just to stimulate your awareness and help you get in touch with your inner feelings about abundance.

1. Make a list of any situations or opportunities that you have encountered which could have brought a big change in your life (such as a new job offer, moving to another place, having a new partner, etc.) but where you decided not to take that opportunity and continue your existing life.

2. To each situation or opportunity that you listed add the rea-sons why you did not pursue it. (For example: you did not have suf-ficient money, your friends or family advised against it, you felt an inner urge not to do it, etc.)

3. Now have a look at the list and try to discover an underlying pattern (you don’t trust your intuition, you always listens to others in-stead, etc.).

After you have played with these questions you may want to con-sider going for a hike or sitting beside a river or lake to reflect some

more on these questions. Don’t make this too much of a mental exer-cise but try to connect with your feelings, for they will provide you with the key for change.

When you look back at major changes in your life, how do you feel about them now? Were they timely? Appropriate? Did you feel forced into them or did you choose them? Did they bring you valuable experiences?

“Less is more.” (19th century proverb, origin unknown)

After letting go of all kinds of mass beliefs, integrating certain as-pects of myself, and beginning to choose for me and trust myself even in the face of uncertainty, I actually started to experience abundance. Now what does that look like in a practical sense? Did I become a millionaire? No, definitely not. Does it mean that I never worry again about money at all? No, I still have my moments of doubt, but com-pared to the past they are typically very brief and superficial, and with a little breathing I am able to quickly and gently release them.

So, what does abundance look like in my case? It actually is a feeling. A feeling that everything is going very smoothly. It also is a knowingness that whatever I need will be there when I need it. I no longer feel fear about what is going to happen and I live much more in the Now moment, expressing what I really want to do, and everything is in support of that. And yes, since I choose for me, my bank account is always positive. There is always money, something I have never experienced before.

I also notice that “gifts” in all kinds of shapes and forms are com-ing my way – invitations to travel to places where everything is taken care of, unexpected benefits or refunds from companies or taxes, of-fers from people to help me with something that was causing a prob-lem, and so on.

A nice example of how things just appear in my life at the right mo-

ment is the new house we recently moved into. The rental agreement on our previous home was terminated because the owner wanted to sell the house. Purely by accident we “stumbled” over this special and beautiful house that was available for rent. It appeared that the owners, who are living abroad, had tried to sell the house for quite a while but without success. To lower the costs and to have the house occupied, they offered it to rent for a year at a relatively low price. We decided to rent it and it is the most spacious and special place I have ever lived in, located in a beautiful and quiet area with very nice scenery.

I want to use this example also to show you how important your perception is in order to experience abundance. To many of our Dutch friends the idea of renting a house for just a year does not make sense unless you are planning to move to another home that is being built - or if you will be going abroad. Several people actually asked me if we were already looking for the next place to live in more permanently. They could not believe that we were just enjoying the house without being concerned over what would happen next. Others told us that we were financially crazy because we had to incur moving costs again after a year. In other words, what looks and feels like abundance to me may be perceived by others as something worrisome and costly.

For many years I had the same problem. I always worried and looked for the negative in every situation. What changed it for me was when I realized that my concerns were caused by my mind travel-ing into the future and creating all kinds of scenarios – usually bad. Actually, when you think of it, it is strange that we as humans tend to concentrate on all the bad things that could happen and disregard all the positive potentials that could be out there too. More importantly, I know from my own experience that when you focus on bad things, the “energies” that are out there to serve you will do their utmost to make it happen. It is all a matter of choice.

Another interesting side effect when I started to experience abun-dance was that I needed less “things” around me. All of a sudden I

noticed that I felt clogged by all these items and started to clean up. I disposed of an endless number of books, clothes I never wore, things that didn’t mean anything anymore, junk from the cellar, the attic and the garage. I felt a very strong urge to simplify my life and let go of so many things I had felt attached to in the past. This is different from the philosophy that many people have, i.e. in order to feel abundant you first need to create a simple life. It is actually the other way around. You first will need to feel abundant and then as a consequence your life will become simpler.

Another thing I observed was that I could let go of expectations. In the old days I always had very specific and defined expectations and wishes about the future, for instance what my next year’s salary would be, what car I would buy, how the next holiday should look like, etc. Now I know that no matter what I will manifest it will be fun, interesting and exactly what I want and need in that particular moment.

More importantly, I do not have any specific expectations or ideas of what abundance should look like. And frankly, I do not care, even if my abundance is looking mediocre or like a poor man’s life in the eyes of others. I know and feel that I am abundant and that is enough. I invite you to explore that same feeling and enjoy life as you have never experienced it before, because life is truly beautiful and abun-dant once you choose for YOU.

Before you start answering the questions below, I invite you to do some breathing. Take a few deep breaths and once you feel relaxed, open and expanded, go through the following questions. There are no good or bad answers. This is just to stimulate your awareness and help you get in touch with your inner feelings about abundance.

1. In Chapter 1 you prepared a list of things that you thought would make you feel abundant. Have another look at that list and con-sider if there has been a change in your consciousness about abun-dance.

2. Look back in your life and try to identify any moments where you felt things were flowing and going very smoothly and you felt abundant. What did you do that interrupted that flow?

After you have played with these questions you may want to con-sider going for a hike or sitting beside a river or lake to reflect some more on these questions. Don’t make this too much of a mental exer-cise but try to connect with your feelings, for they will provide you with the key for change.

Are you now ready to allow abundance to come and stay in your life?

On the following pages you can write down notes about your in-sights and feelings.

“The trouble with the rat-race is that even if you win, you’re still a rat.” (Robert Kiyosaki)

This overview is based upon my personal journey and experienc-es, and the resources that I bumped into and found valuable in under-standing money and abundance by using them for my own personal transformation. This does not mean that these resources will have the same impact on you or create the same results.

I have experienced that what you need will cross your path at the right time, in the right manner as long as you stay open and are willing to receive. What you need might be a book, a workshop or an encoun-ter with a friend or a stranger. The only thing it requires is for you to be conscious and aware of the gift that is handed to you.

“Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, by Robert Toru Kiyosaki and Sharon L. Lechter.

Many New Age people and Shaumbra that I know have a strange relationship with money. On the one hand they crave it, on the other hand they loath it. Besides the energetic implications of this ambiva-lent feeling, in most cases they also refuse to become more literate or aware of the mundane world of money.

I am the first to admit that not all books about money are very inspirational or humorous. However, there is one exception and that is “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.” I have read many books in my life but “Rich

Dad, Poor Dad” was one of the few books I read within one day and that completely and deeply changed my perspective and understand-ing of money matters.

Robert Kiyosaki is an investor, business man, millionaire, self help author and motivational speaker who has written over 18 books, which have sold over 26 million copies. Three of his books have been si-multaneously on the top 10 best-seller lists of the Wall Street Journal, USA Today and the New York Times.

The book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” is written in an anecdotal man-ner and is based upon Kiyosaki’s personal experiences when he was growing up in Hawaii. The book highlights the different attitudes to money, work and life of two of the most important men in his life. One was his father, who had a PhD and was the Head of the Education de-partment of the State of Hawaii until he was fired. He died with a ton of debt. The other was his best friend’s father, who dropped out of school but nevertheless became a self-made multi millionaire. Although many commentators question the degree of fictionalization, the book gives you a completely different understanding of money and in my opinion makes you much more financially literate than many other books.

Besides being very inspirational and funny, the book actually helped me to critically look at my own income and expense profile and eventually motivated me to establish my own company. To me the key realizations after reading the book were that:

- Many things that the masses believe about money are in fact misguided;

- Companies have a big advantage compared to individuals be-cause they deduct their expenses before paying tax while individuals pay taxes first and then have to take care of their expenses;

- Anybody can start a business.

Let me show you with a simple example that it indeed makes fi-nancial sense to establish your own company.

Page 63: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

Company PersonalIncome 1,000 1,000Expenses 350 350Taxes (30%) 195 300Income after tax and expenses 455 350

In the Netherlands, where the income tax is as high as 50%, this would even create a bigger gap between the company and the indi-vidual’s income after tax and expenses (instead of a gap of 105 in the example above, it would mean a gap of 305!).

Have you always wanted to buy that big flat screen TV, or that beamer (projector) to enjoy movies on a big screen, like I did? When you need to do workshops or presentations for your own company or attend trade shows, a flat screen TV or beamer is a helpful and neces-sary attribute – and tax deductible. And when you are not using them for business you can use and enjoy them in your living room.

Having dinner with friends? If you can qualify it as a “business” dinner your restaurant bill is tax deductible. In his book Kiyosaki tells how he is holding his company board meetings in nice holiday lo-cations to combine business and pleasure. My partner attended the Crimson Circle Quantum Leap event for professional purposes and deducted the travel expenses.

“Creating Money, Keys to Abundance,” by Sanaya Roman

When traveling to Brazil on a business trip some years ago, I made a stopover at the Miami airport. While browsing one of the bookstores for some reading materials for the upcoming night flight I bumped into Sanaya’s book titled “Living with Joy: Keys to personal power & spiri-

Page 64: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

64

tual transformation.” The title of the book instantly appealed to me and I read the book overnight in the plane. The information in the book was “given” to Sanaya by an entity called Orin, a gentle spirit teacher. I was so taken by this information that I ended up buying all her books.

In “Creating Money,” Orin teaches about the spiritual laws of mon-ey saying: “There is a natural rhythm to money, just as there is a natural cycle to everything in your life. Every person has cycles in life, times when money is going out more than when it is coming in, and vice versa. Your challenge is to not go up and down emotionally with the natural ebb and flow of money in your life. If you are experiencing as much money going out as coming in, things are stagnant. Or, if you have more bills than you have income, look at where your own energy might not be moving or is blocked.

“You want both money and your personal energy to flow. By un-blocking your energy, you can create more money in your life. Blocks in money flow can be caused by places where your energy isn’t flow-ing, such as in your emotions, physical body, or in your relationships. Observe your life for awhile, and ask your higher self to show you where your energy needs to flow more.”

It was the first time that I started to understand the importance of looking at money in a completely different way. Orin also explains that abundance is something different than having lots of money or things.

“Abundance means more than having quantities of things; it means having things that fulfill you as well. Money can be part of your abundance; money can make sense in your life. As you become more skilled at manifesting, you will learn to consciously choose what you want to create and then draw it to you. Situations and objects will come into your life simultaneously with your need for them. You can learn to master money rather than being mastered by it. Through your mastery you will also allow situations and objects to leave your life gently and easily when you no longer need them, creating room for the next things that will serve you. There will be a natural flow of money,

Page 65: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

65

people, and things into and out of your life and each will serve your higher purpose and appear at exactly the right time.”

Finally Orin gave some practical suggestions to increase the flow of abundance in your life: “You can increase the flow of money, ob-jects, and things you want into your life by operating with more clarity, joy, harmony, and integrity, trusting that everything that happens is for your higher good. As you identify and let go of old situations that no longer serve you, as you open to new opportunities, thoughts, percep-tions, and feelings, you will allow the higher energy of your soul to flow through you. Then money and abundance will come to you naturally.”

“The Creator Series: New Tools for Our New Spiritual Journey,” by Geoffrey Hoppe.

The book contains a series of channels from Tobias that started on August 19, 2000 and concluded on July 15, 2001. In these chan-nels Tobias explains the dynamics of creating and manifesting and provides the reader with a number of “tools” that can be used. The channels are available for free on the Crimson Circle website: www.crimsoncircle.com

Adamus Saint-Germain’s “New Energy Synchrotize school,” a Crimson Circle teacher presented workshop (also available as personal study course).

The New Energy Synchrotize (NES) material was one of the most profound sources of information and transformation for me. In the ma-terial Adamus Saint-Germain makes you aware of how mass belief systems influence your life and decision making on many, many lev-els. He invites you to critically reflect on your beliefs and then shows you how you can release them.

The information created the same realization of being caught in a “system” as the movie “The Matrix,” and it showed me the way out by making conscious choices and trusting the outcome. This course was instrumental in kick-starting my own process of making conscious choices in my life.

Tobias’ “Sexual Energies School,” a Crimson Circle teacher presented workshop

You are probably very surprised to see this workshop mentioned here as a source that helped me to experience abundance. That is be-cause, contrary to what the title may suggest, the workshop has very little to do with sex, but everything with energetic balance.

In this workshop Tobias explains how everybody is involved in a grand game of energy “stealing.” Often, in my experience, energy stealing also happens in the form of money “stealing.” Many people in your environment want your money, including family members, friends, colleagues, companies, governments, churches, etc. Take a look for example at your income and expenses. Can you distinguish the energy behind the various items? Do you pay people or organiza-tions because you wanted to help them, only to find that you are stuck in a commitment from the past that you feel difficult to disconnect from because they make you feel guilty?

The workshop helps you understand how this energy stealing works, how you play your own part in it, and how you can release the need to steal from anybody else and prevent others from stealing from you. It was one of the most intense and transformational workshops I ever attended and it definitely helped me to rebalance my financial relationships with everyone around me.

Tobias’ “Discovering your Passion,” a Crimson Circle personal study course.

One of the things I have realized is the importance of doing every-thing with joy. Tobias explains that true passion is a deep inner feeling of joy for life which can express itself in any way you choose. The im-portance of expressing your passion and joy is that it will energetically help you attract the things you need. It is the basis and the foundation of flow in your life.

The reason that I always had a good income was simply because whatever I did, I did it with joy and enthusiasm, whether it was bank-ing, risk management, consulting or being a new energy teacher. It is your passion that will attract the right circumstances and the money you need.

These books, audio courses and workshops are just a few of the resources that I used to reach that point in my life of feeling abundant. Of course there were many other things, situations and encounters that also helped me gain valuable insights and experiences. In the end the most valuable and important resource that you have to help you understand and experience abundance is your own life. Use it well and enjoy!

Page 68: Choosing - TheSpiritualCoachthespiritualcoach.com/.../downloads/2010/09/Choosing-for-You.pdf · Choosing FOR YOU. FOR YOU Choosing. Choosing for You Experiencing Abundance the New

Let me assure you that the journey to this point of feeling abundant was not easy. However, once I started to open myself and choose for me, things accelerated in an unbelievable way. It showed me that if you want to change your life in any way, it is possible to create some-thing new very quickly.

In that regard I would like to emphasize the importance of making clear and high level choices or decisions. What I mean by that is that you have to be totally honest and clear with yourself if you really want to make a change. Many times, when I was confronted with situations that required me to make a choice, I was ambivalent. As the Dutch say, I tried “to save the goat and the cabbage.” As you will understand, being ambivalent makes it very hard for the “energies” to work for you. What direction should they choose? The result is at best a mixture, an approximation, of what you wanted. In the worst case, nothing will happen and things will be stagnant. Have you felt this about your life? No apparent movement? Nothing really happening?

When you are making a choice, it needs to be with your complete heart and being, without reservations or holding back. This way it will be clear for the energies which direction to choose and you may be surprised with the end result. Now ask yourself, are you bold enough to make these unconditional and clear choices? Can you be clear when you don’t like the situation you are in, make a choice, and ac-cept whatever the consequences may be?

Another myth I bumped into in my years of spiritual search was this concept of “creating” or “manifesting” money or abundance by ap-

plying all sorts of techniques such as visualizations, positive thinking, affirmations, etc. During my own personal transformation I discovered a very simple truth: You don’t need to do anything. The universe is al-ready offering all the abundance you need as long as you don’t create the obstacles that will prevent it from coming into your life.

The key to experiencing abundance is therefore to simply choose for you and then to allow things to come into your life in a natural way. And although this may sound too easy and unbelievable, it has become my truth.
