Yet his passion for music emerged only after discovering the electric violin and its almost infinite possibilities. His decision to break away from the world of classical music came shortly thereafter. Since then, Chris has been striving to develop his musical expression, constantly trying to discover new sounds on his instrument. Anthem of the Sun, a pop-rock project founded in 2009, was to become his first opportunity to step outside of the classical music world and take his newly acquired instrument on stage. The following four years allowed him to discover many national and international stages. Two EP’s were released until the project was shelved in 2013. Meeting the renowned André Mergenthaler was an important turning point in his young career. The gifted avant-garde cellist and long time live-looper has become a good friend and mentor to Chris. In 2012 they have pooled forces for the first time, playing a well-received concert in Maribor, Slovenia, European Capital of Culture 2012. Since then they have been demonstrating their musical synergies on a regular basis. Among the highlights of this collaboration was their appearance in 2013 at the Festival: Live at Vauban, playing as support act for Al di Meola. In early 2013, Chris decided to put further effort in the development of his solo project, named All Reitz Reserved. It has become his main project since then. All Reitz Reserved is first and foremost a flexible live project that allows Chris to cover a wide variety of events. It also provides a structure that allows him to experiment and improvise with different sound and music approaches in a live context. Apart from his main project, Chris is and has always been involved in a variety of side projects and bands. He’s been a member of Celtic-Heavy band Clanrock since 2013. Chris has also had appearances as a guest musician in different music projects, such as “Tribute to Céline Dion”, “The Bangin’ Men” (Slade Cover). He’s also playing with Seed to Tree and Zero Point 5 on a regular basis. Chris is one of three musicians who have been in charge of the musical accompaniment of the satiric lectures “Réckbléck op de läschte Mount” and “Réckbléck 2015” by Roland Gelhausen and Jay Schiltz from 2014 to 2016.

Chris ReitzBorn in 1992, Chris started playing the violin at the age of 8, following musical lessons at the local music school in his home town Pétange until he was 19.

All Reitz ReservedAll Reitz Reserved is Chris Reitz’ very first instrumental solo project. It is a flexible live-looping program, that can easily be adapted to his specific needs. Chris is constantly trying to explore new sonar spheres, without losing secure ground and drifting too far away. The sounds of his electric violin are altered, delayed, distorted and looped.

His project is not genre-specific, it combines a variety of different musical influences. Although his roots are in Rock music, you’ll hear side trips to Jazz, Blues, Pop and traditional Irish and American music. His effects usage allows him to create soundscapes rather than melodies, which reflects his passion for ambient music. Lately Chris has been interested in electronic music, which he tries to incorporate in his sets, combining the sounds of his violin and samples in a live context.

The given flexibility allows Chris to cover a wide range of events, from corporate events, lectures and vernissages to Open-Air Festival shows. Since the beginning of 2013 he had many opportunities to prove his talents on smaller and bigger stages in Luxembourg and the Greater Region. Chris has not released anything yet, although the first record is scheduled for the beginning of 2017.

About the LoopsLoop stations and the concept of live looping are mostly unknown to most people as far as I can say. This is why I decided to make an attempt to explain in a few words what it is all about. The loop station, or looper, is an essential part of the project. Actually, it is my band, my best friend and worst enemy at the same time. It allows me to record myself live on stage. Furthermore it will repeat these mini-recordings over and over (=loops). Then I can go on and record and overdub these loops to create whole songs. There’s also a possibility to play pre-recorded tracks, although I prefer building the song one step after another, which makes it also easier for the audience to follow and understand the music.I tend to combine loops and premade drum samples in order to create a more interesting live experience for my audiences.
