RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

NO CLASS-Monday, January 18th as this is a school holiday, Martin Luther King day. REMINDER-INCLEMENT WEATHER– Our religious education classes follow the public school calendar. If school is cancelled due to inclement weather, our religious education classes are cancelled for that day; however, regular half days do not affect our schedule. We still have classes for that day. Check our website at www.christthekingtrumbull.org for updates on weather and closings. Any young person who has received the Sacrament of Confirmation and would like to become a Lector at any of our Masses, please call the parish office at 268-8695. We would love for you to join this ministry! CHRIST THE KING BIBLE STUDY –First Corinthians, an eleven week study featuring Tim Gray will begin at Christ the King on Friday, January 22nd from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. To reserve a study Binder and to register for the class please call the parish office at 268-8695 or email [email protected]. BASKETBALL FREE THROW COMPETITION– The Knights of Columbus council #2961 is sponsoring their annual Free Throw Championship on Saturday, January 30th at inSports, 29 Trefoil Dr. Trumbull. The event is open to all boys and girls ages 9-14. Arrive between 1 and 3 P.M. to participate. Everyone receives a participation certificate and the winners receive a prize and advance to the next level of competition. Children 9, 10 & 11 years old shoot from the 12 foot line while older ages shoot from the standard free throw 15 foot line. Age is as of 1/1/2016. A parent’s signature is needed during registration at the event. Last year Brian Hance won the Council, District, Regional and State championships for the 13 year old boys.! Call or text 203-556-6597 with any questions prior to the event. Thanks to insports for providing court time for this competition.

The Rosary Group will not meet for the months of January and February. We will resume in March.

A DAY WITH MARY-A FREE Marian Eucharistic Day Retreat You are invited to A Day With Mary, a free one-day retreat offered by the Franciscan friars of Saturday, February 20 at Our Lady of the Assumption in Fairfield. The day starts at 8:45am and includes Saturday daily Mass, Confession for those who wish, Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, Marian Procession, recitation of the Rosary, conferment of the Brown Scapular and the Miraculous Medal, a Fatima video, and preaching by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate.
