In our group we have 4 members. To make sure that every member will have an equal

duty in the project, we decided to divide the story and life of our chosen martyr into three parts

( St. Catherine’s life before becoming a Christian, her life as a Christian, her Medieval cult and

influence in Art). Each member will have to do one of the parts and the remaining duty for the

last member is the sequencing of the composition and information gathered for the script.

The duty that was assigned to me was to make a composition about the life of St.

Catherine before she became a Christian and the reason why she entered into Christianity. I also

did the bibliography of the sources used for our project.

Basically before I did my composition I research the different information that I have to

include in it. The first thing I did was to research her personal information which includes her

 parents, the place and kind of family she was born at. I also find pictures that were illustrating

this information.

The next thing I did was to research the characteristics of St. Catherine including her

 behavior. I was interested to know her attitude so even though it was not really included to what

our leader told me to do, I still researched it. I also added pictures in this part because it would be

 better to see the image of our saint to support the things I wrote about her physical

characteristics.

Then I researched St. Catherine’s fortunate life before becoming a Christian and the

introduction of events that led her into Christianity. After I gathered all the necessary

information about St. Catherine, I started doing my composition.

Upon doing my composition, I was really fascinated to St. Catherine’s life. I keep on

saying to myself, “Wow! She’s really cool”. I was really proud and happy that her name was the

same as mine. I learned many things from this project because our saint was her. I learned that

not only men during that time were capable of doing sacrifices for Jesus but also the women. I

admired the fact that even though St. Catherine came from a fortunate family and was bless to

have majestic attributes she still managed to unite herself to God which is at that time was

unique for wealthy families and she even gave up everything for her faith in Jesus. She made me

realized that women could also be fearless when it comes to their faith and love for God. I

learned that women, the same as man also have an important role in spreading Christianity and it

was illustrated on the life St. Catherine. I also attained the idea that no matter how beautiful,

good and rich a person is, he or she can’t surpass the perfection of Christ.
