365 Days of Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, We come to you as humble as we know how. We bow down before you and reverence your Holy name. You are great and greatly to be praised, from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same. Your power is undefeata-

ble and your reign is never-ending. We thank you for every trial and every struggle you have brought us to and through. Thank you for every stumbling block that you have allowed us to overcome. We thank you for every door that you have opened and every door that you have closed. We thank you for the power and the worth of prayer. We thank you for protection, as we go from day to day. Thank you for the cross at Calva-ry, for loving us so much that you gave your only begotten son to die for our sins. Thank you for forgiving us of all of our transgression. Bless us, oh God, that we may always be quick to forgive others. Thank you for the example of forgiveness. We fall short, day after day, minute after minute, and yet you still forgive us and make provision for us. There is no comparison to your love. We love you!

Please bless the children of this world, who are not our future, but they are our today. Help us, as adults, to lead them in the path of righteousness. Bless the pastors, all over this nation, that they may lead your peo-ple with sensitivity to your Holy Spirit. And please bless those who serve in your Kingdom. Help them to ob-tain and retain the right focus in serving your people. Lord, we bless you and thank you for answered pray-ers. It is in Jesus name that we pray and give thanks. Amen!

Daniel 6:10—But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with his windows open towards Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God. (NLT)

When we talk about the book of Daniel, we often share the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the fiery furnace. Or, the parallel story of Daniel in the lion’s den. When we refer to the story of Daniel being placed in the lion’s den, we typically rejoice at how God saved and delivered him out of the lion’s den un-harmed. However, we often skip over what happens before he is cast into the pit of lions.

We all know the story - jealous rivals, unhappy about Daniel’s elevation to a high office, trick the king into signing a decree that they think condemns Daniel to death. King Darius orders everyone to worship and pray to him; and only him. Daniel refuses to compromise, does not obey the new rule, and continues to worship and pray to God; and God alone. Daniel stood firm in his faith and prayed with passion to God, just as he’d always done. He prayed three times a day, without ceasing.

Daniel didn’t wait until he was in the lion’s den to pray. He was routinely and consistently on his knees every day, praying to God. Showing gratitude and being thankful for God and his grace. We are instructed in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Colossians 4:2, Philippians 4:6-7, and encouraged in so many other scriptures in the bible to pray without ceasing and devote ourselves to prayer.

Just like Daniel, shouldn’t we all be faithful and consistent in prayer? Not just soliciting him for what he can provide; but simply acknowledging him for who he is in our lives. Seeking his face and his guidance in all things. Daniel gave thanks in all circumstances, stayed joyful and patient in affliction, and God delivered him. Old church would say that he was on praying terms with God. Are you?

There’s 24 hours in a day. How much of that day will you devote to God?

Prayer matters!

365 Days of Prayer

Ephesians 6:18—And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of pray-ers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (NIV)

Heavenly Father, your word says to pray without ceasing “I Thes 5:16-18” Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. We thank you for the provisions you have bestowed upon your people. We thank you for fellowship in the body of Christ. Let us always pray for each other, the Pastor, First Lady and Family. As we continue to pray for our Seniors, our young adults, and children. Father we continue to thank you for the Vision coming to past so that we your people can build and rebuild lives and stronger communities. Father let us continue to pray in the spirit that your will be manifested in our lives. “Phil 1:4” In all my prays for all of you, I always pray for Joy, Love, Peace and Humility in 2017. Let us continue to pray for our Nation, our Country and those in Political offices. Lord we are VICTORIOUS and not DEFEATED. Deuteronomy 28:13 We are the HEAD and not the TAIL. We your people are expecting and looking towards Great Expectations to expand the Kingdom for your glory! AMEN

Deaconess Loray Mooring

Psalm 139:23-24— Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in

the way everlasting. (NIV)

Father, I give you my heart, my soul, and my life. I dedicate my whole being to You, and You alone. I give you my fail-ures and my successes, my fears and my aspirations. Please, search my heart. Let my thoughts and my motives be pure and justly in your sight. You O Lord, know me through and through; remove the unclean ways in me that do not honor you, that I might be pleasing to You.

Father, fill me with your love and your Holy Spirit, I pray; enable me to do the tasks set before me. Lead me into the Your everlasting way. Wherever I go, whatever the challenge, I pray that You will always be there, guiding me com-pletely. Father, from my rising in the morning to my resting at night, O Lord, be near, surrounding me continually with Your love.

I look forward to this new year and new season with joyful anticipation to what You have planned for me. Thank you for becoming Lord of my life and the very center of my joy...Amen!

365 Days of Prayer focus for January is “Prayer Matters” “Pray without ceasing” (NKJV) —1 Thessalonians 5:17

Psalm 19:14— May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. (NIV)

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Dear God, the almighty, the omnipotent and omniscient one: I come humbly before you and confess that I have made mistakes, and I realize that I am not perfect.

I just want to say thank you. I thank you for allowing me to see another day and to praise your mighty name. I thank you for your listening ear because you know my needs before I speak a single word. I thank you for daily sustenance, and I thank you for everything.

Please help me to grow more as a Christian so that I may share the good news, help bring others to Christ, and live my life in right accord. These things I ask in your name.

Amen
