Did you know?The main causes of homelessness are relationship breakdown, disputes with parents, domestic abuse or bereavement. Many homeless people do not have contact with their families.

Rough sleepers have an average life expectancy of just 42 years, compared with the national average of 74 for men and 79 for women.

Homeless people are twice as likely to experience mental health problems compared to the general population.

Every day:

5 new people arrive on our doorstep whose needs are assessed / 60 people access our Employment & Training service / 2 people enter training and work placements / 40 people attend a specialist activity or support group / 5 people are referred to accommodation by our Advice & Housing team / 82 litres of tea and coffee and 200 meals are consumed.

The Connection at St Martin’s, located next to Trafalgar Square, is a charity which helps thousands of homeless people in Central London every year.

Open every day of the week we are the busiest day centre in the UK and guide homeless people through our comprehensive services which include Advice & Housing, Employment & Training, Outreach, Day Centre and Night Centre.

Our objective is to help empower homeless people so that they can rebuild their lives away from the streets and, ultimately, move towards independence.

1 pack could pay for three meals for a homeless person / 3 packs could pay for an in-depth assessment to investigate a rough sleeper’s situation and how we can help / 10 packs could give a homeless person help and advice on substance misuse and refer them to appropriate services / 20 packs could enrol a homeless person into our six week training course, which greatly improves their chance of getting off the streets and securing employment.
