STEPS1. Cut out the following 6 inch squares Fabric 1 – 24 squares Fabric 2 – 12 squares Fabric 3 – 12 squares

2. Place Fabric 1 square and Fabric 2 square right sides together, sew a ¼ inch seam all around the square. Repeat this step for all remaining squares. There should be a total of 24 squares in total. Fabric 1 square is paired with a Fabric 2 or 3 square.

3. Lay a square on the cutting mat. Using the rotary cutter, cut from corner to corner in both directions. Each square will become 4 triangles.

4. Press open each triangle to create a diamond. Clip excess seams.

5. Place the diamond shaped pieces into the zig zag pattern as show in the layout image.

6. Stitch together panels in rows. Stitch rows together to create the zig zag pattern.

7. Starting at the centre of the quilt and working outwards, place at least one curved safety pin through all layers of the quilt. Place approximately one safety pin per triangle. Cut off the excess backing fabric and batting to 2 to 3 inches from the edge of the quilt top.

8. Quilt as desired.

9. Trim the batting and backing batting and backing fabric to 3/8 inches from the edge of the front panel.

10. Bind quilt with bias binding. Turn the binding over and invisible stitch the binding to the back of the quilt.
