CHRISTMASTIME AT THE STAR INN 2020 Christmas is a magical time to enjoy good company in comfortable surroundings, whilst eating, drinking and merry-making with all the best that a traditional Yorkshire Yuletide has to offer. The ambience at The Star and Cross House Lodge is always very special and, at Christmastime, the hospitable Harome elves work especially hard to make everything as perfect as possible: evocative smells and tastes, warming fires, decorations and foliage all coming together to create a grown-up grotto for festive foodies. Christmas Eve – arrival from 3pm Check in to your room, then make your way down into the Hotel Lounge 4/4.30pm for mulled wine and mince pies and either get into the spirit of things with our Christmas film in the Wheelhouse, or wrap up and toast your own chestnuts or marshmallows on our brazier outside on the Terrace. Your table will be reserved across in The Star for dinner taken from our Michelin-starred seasonal À la Carte Menu. Friday 25th December

Christmas Day Breakfast can be taken between 8.30am and 10am in the Wheelhouse with time, if you wish to take a stroll around the village to get a little fresh air and complete our Festive Treasure Hunt. Take your seat across as The Star for the Main Event, a relaxed, rolling service Christmas Day lunch, at 1pm

Head back to Cross House Lodge around 4.30pm for a post-prandial snooze in your room or traditional board games in the Lounge. From 7.30pm a buffet of hams, cheeses and pickles will be on offer in the Wheelhouse to carry you over to breakfast on Boxing Day. Saturday 26th December

Boxing Day – departure by 11am Your choice of breakfast, including a Full Yorkshire, is on offer in the Wheelhouse from 8.30am to 10am. There are some great walks in the area for a diversion on your way home – or call in to see the historic Sinnington Hunt meet at Kirkbymoorside at 11am, as an alternative.
