Robert Bery is a Hungarian-born artist who works in painting, sculpture, and mixed

media. Through his art, Bery promotes peaceful themes and has said “My intention

is to reflect, challenge and inspire the viewer through color and image.” His

determination to advance peaceful globalization, to discourage egotistical hubris

and to celebrate life and its rituals underlies his vision.

His current paintings explore the idea of virtual reality. Shifting depths and colors

draw in the viewer through consciousness as the light plays over the surfaces.

As strong as the images of these works are, the actual idea is to go beyond the

photographic representation. There are multiple planes of color and iridescence,

almost tridimensional. They invite the viewer to escape into beauty.

Bery’s works are included in such notable collections as that of Mr. and Mrs.

Bill Clinton and the Polaroid Company, and have provenance at the Smithsonian

Institute. Pieces by Bery are in the private collections of Bill and Hilary Clinton,

David Bowie, Willem Dafoe, Alec Baldwin, Benjamin Bratt, the Smithsonian

Institute, the Federal Reserve Bank, to name a few.
