The much awaited campus fest VIAJE was a four-day gala event starting 29-November. The inauguration happened with
lighting the lamp and ribbon-cutting by Prof. Manas Chakravarty (Dean, UWSB), Dr. Bhuvneshwar Gupta
(Director-Academics, UWSB), Mr. Jayantilal Panchal, (Director UID), Colonel Surojit Bose (Director Academics and
International Collaborations, UID), Dr. Dipti Shah , (Principal, KSD), Dr. Mrinal Raste (Dean, UWSL) and other dignitaries.
Later, a group of students gave an enthralling dance performance.
Driving the theme of the fest, nooks and corners of the campus were adorned with a wide range of art installations,
from Game of Thrones to DC/Marvel superheroes, from Mowgli to Harry Potter, from Naruto to Lego.
The first day of the fest had the famous stand-up comedian and actor Kapil Sharma visiting the campus and interacting
with the students and talking about his upcoming rom-com 'Firangi'. A contest was organized to select Kapil’s best fan
with the winner getting the chance to click a selfie with him. Kapil thrilled everybody with his witty remarks while in
turn the students delighted him by performing Zumba.

A campus fest is all about performances put up by students and they were there in Viaje in hearty abundance.
Campus fests are never complete without the sports and games involving friendly competition.
The last day was all about band shows, DJs and dancing. The night started by the crowd getting hyped to western rock
and heavy metal music by a band. The singer drew the crowd in front of the stage and had them head-banging with gay
abandon. DJs created a trance-like atmosphere with the stage lights and set the mood right by playing some really
groovy beats to which the cheering and dancing continued till the wee hours.

The HR topper Vaidehi Bhatt
The batch topper Aditya Chowdhary
Following the convocation, UWSB Chronicle caught up with Aditya Chowdhary who
topped the PGDM Batch 2015-17 to get his message to our readers, particularly his juniors
How much of what was taught in classroom have you been able to bring to your workplace?
I would say I am able to apply most of the things that were taught in the classroom at my workplace. Live exam-
ples and case studies help improve logical and analytical thinking and puts us through a real situation which indeed
helps a lot in not only understanding the concepts but also while facing similar situations in real life and dealing with
them in the most effective way. Having started the entrepreneurial journey, the things taught in the Entrepreneurship
classes were an additional advantage in dealing with typical situations.
How much improvement has there been in your personal skills during the time you put at UWSB?
The thing that I like the most about UWSB is that the college not only focuses on our knowledge development but it also
focuses equally on developing the student’s personality as a whole. I would admit that I am more confident now when
compared to myself before joining UWSB.
What was your social life like as a student at UWSB?
Students at UWSB come from different parts of India, hence it forms a culturally diverse environment. All the festivals
are celebrated with equal zeal and enthusiasm. Multiple sports tournaments happen throughout the year, which makes
life fun at UWSB.
What is your success mantra?
I believe that the only success mantra that works in real life is making the most of the time that we have in hand at the
moment. I would quote Michael LeBoeuf here – “Waste your money and you're only out of money, but waste your time
and you've lost a part of your life.”
What is your message to the juniors?
I would advise the juniors to make the most of what they can at UWSB, be it fun or learning. Missing out on either of it
will have an impact on our lives. Work hard in silence, let your success make noise.
