Château LALENE CUVEE PRESTIGE 2016 BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR ROUGE OVERVIEW Château Lalène and its vineyard are located in the heart of the Bordeaux Region, in the commune of Bossugan, 60 kiliometres from Bordeaux, East of the Gironde River. Since 1845, this property has always been run by the same family; five generations of wine-growers have passed down an ancestral know-how. Today, Laurent Cioci manages the domain. VINEYARD Soil: Chalky-clay. Surface: 26 hectares Location: The vineyard, South well-oriented, is located on the commune of Bossugan, East of the Gironde River. Average age of the vineyard: 45 years Grape varieties: 80% Merlot / 10% Cabernet Sauvignon / 10% Cabernet Franc VINIFICATION Classical vinification in thermo-regulated vats. Long vatting for 4 to 5 weeks. Ageing in oak barrels, with 33% new barrels. WINE TASTING Beautiful deep purple colour. On the nose, elegant aromas of fresh fruits, violet and fine woody notes with roasted tones. On the palate, a lot of structure and volume with robust tannins and a long finish. MATCHING FOOD AND WINE Serve at 17-18°C with grilled beef tenderloin, smoked ham platter for an aperitif, or with poultry stew. This wine will enhance a good selection of cheeses or cooked meats.
