Sunday Mornings at 9:30am The Protestant Reformation with Rev. Jim Sharp

Have you ever wondered why you call yourself a “Protestant”? Perhaps growing up you heard that being Protestant meant ‘not being Roman Catholic.’ That may define who you are NOT…but how do you turn that around into core beliefs of who you ARE? Trinity Church is delighted to welcome the Reverend James M. Sharp to teach a five week series on THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION—THE FIVE SOLAS. Did you know that the word “SOLA” is the Latin work for “only” or “alone. There are five “solas” that Protestant Christians in general and Presbyterian/Reformed believers in particular affirm: Scripture alone, Christ alone, Grace alone, Faith alone, and for the Glory of God alone. THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION—THE FIVE SOLAS begins Sunday, October 11th prior at the 9:30am church school hour. So if you come to the Traditional Service, plan to come early and take part in this learning experience. Each class runs 45 minutes. Now retired, Jim Sharp was pastor at Good Shepherd Church in Englewood for thirteen years. He is a graduate of Biblical Theological Seminary outside of Philadelphia.

ALL SAINTS’ DAY REMEMBRANCE

This year we will observe All Saints Day on Sunday, November 1st with Holy Communion at both services. During the 10:30 Traditional Service there will be a special time of remembrance for those members and friends of Trinity who have entered the presence of Christ in the last twelve months.

If you would like to include the name of a loved one who died this past year, please contact the church office at 941.493.0018 and provide the information.
