About the Event The Equity Release Summit 2020 will take place on March 12th at the Grade II listed Church House Westminster conference centre.

The one-day Summit, hosted by the Equity Release Council, will be the landmark equity release event in the industry’s calendar, growing and developing year-on-year in terms of impact, recognition, profile and credibility. In addition to keynote addresses by senior politicians and sector leaders, it will feature core plenary sessions focusing on broad issues of interest to members and the wider sector. There will also be interactive, panel-based, subject-specific parallel sessions.

The Summit follows last year’s Equity Release Council member survey, in which a third of respondents (32%) said they would like an opportunity to take part in, or support/sponsor Council activities. The 2020 event will provide an excellent opportunity to do both.

Over the course of 25 years, the Equity Release Council has continued to represent the equity release sector, and exists to promote high standards of conduct and practice in the provision of, and advice on equity release, with consumer safeguards at its heart.

These standards and safeguards have allowed the sector to grow, giving financial advisers and their customers confidence in the products, dispelling myths about equity release, and educating the public about the potential to access the wealth in their home for a variety of uses.

The reputation and standing of the brand, and the trust developed, has seen its membership grow, bringing the sector together and helping strengthen its voice: providers of equity release plans, solicitors, intermediaries, financial advisers, consultants, surveyors and other industry professionals – all committed to the principles of membership. The Council builds on this unified voice of its members, while remaining independent from the specific views of individual member firms or particular segments of the equity release market.

Venue - Church House Westminster

One of the capital’s true hidden gems, Church House Westminster is set within Dean’s Yard and offers a peaceful and green setting along with stunning views of Westminster Abbey, while being only a few minutes’ walk from Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and St James’s Park. The venue is served by excellent transport links, and is within easy walking distance of both Westminster and St James’s Park underground stations, and Victoria, Waterloo and Charing Cross mainline train stations. The nearest underground stations are St James’s Park and Westminster (District, Circle and Jubilee lines), which are both within a 10-minute walk. When you arrive, you will see a small archway with a security cabin and a gate, next to Westminster Abbey. Go through the archway into Dean’s Yard, and head towards the large building facing you at the end of the yard - this is Church House.
