ORDER OF WORSHIP SANCTUARY 11:00 a.m.

OPENING TO GOD

PRELUDE Celebration James Mansfield Breathe on Me, Breath of God arr. Robert Hughes WELCOME The Rev. Andy Call *CALL TO WORSHIP The Rev. Amanda Moseng

One: We gather in this time - some of us in the sanctuary, others online – with joy in our hearts. All: This day is a gift from God. One: We have waited for what seems like an eternity to emerge from isolation. All: We give thanks for God's presence that has sustained us in our waiting. One: Now, as we take these joyous but tentative steps forward, we pray that God will guide us still, pouring out new and unexpected blessings upon us. All: Guide us, O God, as we make our way into the future you have in store for us.

*HYMN OF PRAISE #127 Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah *CALL TO CONFESSION Rev. Call *PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Holy One, as we mark a new chapter in our life of worship together, help us to express our fears and our failures. While we have longed for community during this necessary time of separation, we confess we have not thought enough of those around us. Our prayers for one another have been too infrequent, too few. Even though we desire the best for one another, our focus is too often on ourselves, our rights, our preferences. We have allowed the politics of difference to divide us through our words, our actions, and our thoughts. Forgive us and restore us.

Let this day be a day of new beginnings, of renewed hope and faith, as we journey with you and one another toward the goal of Christ's likeness. In the name of the One who saved us and saves us still. Amen.

Congratulations to Church of the Saviour’s high school graduates: Tendai Bakasa, Tinashe Bakasa, Lukas Chew, Rafe Dellinger, Luke Graban, Avery Hickey, Everett Hunter, Anna Krouse, Abraham Paik, Connor Richard, Anna Rose, David Verhage, Derek Yost. Today we celebrate the baptism of Alexander Earle Billington. Alex is the son of Steve and Lori Billington and the brother of John and Sarah. His grandparents are Anne and Glenn Billington. All are invited to gather in-person at Church of the Saviour for Game Night on Friday, June 18 from 7 - 9 p.m. in the Great Hall. For the care and safety of all, we ask everyone who participates to wear a mask; no food or drinks will be served. Feel free to bring your favorite game. If there is enough interest expressed, we will attempt to set up at least one virtual game for those who prefer to play from home. Please RSVP by June 13 to the church office or online. If you have questions, contact Dyann Whaley at 216-310-5077. The UMW (United Methodist Women) annual Service of Remembrance, honoring those women of the church who have died in the past year, will be held on Tuesday, June 22 at 11 a.m. in the Great Hall. All are invited to attend this service. Please let the church office know if you are coming. For the care and safety of all, we ask that everyone wear a mask. We want to show our love and support for Rev. Gregory Kendrick, Jr. with a farewell reception on Sunday, June 27 following the 11 a.m. worship service. Please join us on the front lawn for a light lunch of sandwiches, chips, a cookie, and a beverage, which will be provided. We will also welcome Rev. Amanda Moseng in her expanded role. Please RSVP by June 15 online or contact the church office. You may also contribute toward a gift of appreciation for Rev. Kendrick online or by writing a check with a note on the memo line.

ECHO (East Cleveland Hospitality Outreach) - Church of the Saviour supports food and clothing distribution at the Father Ozanam Center in East Cleveland. We are collecting donations of clothes for boys ages 6-16 through the month of June. Please drop off your donations in the wooden bin in the rear parking lot next to the Parlor door. Questions? Contact Tom or Lisa Wadsworth. Thank you! EVERYONE can participate in the Youth Mission Trip to Cleveland, Ohio! On July 10-16 we will be serving alongside local missions, ministries, and community-focused non-profits. Will you please be a part of the group through your prayers and donations? We hope to identify a prayer partner for each person on the trip - if you are willing to join in this effort, please contact Curt at [email protected]. We are also bringing back our Stock Sales fundraiser, where your financial support earns you a "share" of the trip. You will receive a note from a mission tripper sharing about their experience during the week. Our goal is to raise $9,000. Donations can be made at cotsumc.org/give or mailed to the church office. Every dollar helps!
