June 3, 2019 An encouraging word from Brian, Cate, and Eli Adams! Why do you celebrate that CHUM exists and is the church that it is to- day? We chose and still choose to be a part of CHUM because we are a church who truly lives up to the words "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors." How has your identity as a child of God been strengthened through CHUM? Through Bible study that encourages questioning and curiosity instead of taking the Bible as a black and white, literal document. We believe even more than ever that every single person is a beloved child of God because of the love and connection taught at CHUM. What motivates you to give a special birthday gift in this season, above and beyond your regular giving? We are choosing to make a birthday gift above and beyond our pledge amount because we consider the congregants of CHUM to be part of our family. When family needs a little extra boost of support, we believe in being there to help. We are particularly proud of CHUM for engaging in the continuing movement to include our LBGTQ brothers and sisters in all aspects of our church. What amount are you committing to give and why did you choose this amount? We gave $450. We choose this amount because it was an amount that caused our family to stretch and plan. We wanted to give an amount that would make a difference in the life of our church and would also noticeable to us in our monthly budget but not detrimentally so. What encouraging words would you share with other CHUM members about making a special birthday gift? We are so grateful to call you family and we're happy to help maintain our church home, the salary of our leaders and the programs that help us grow. Will you join Brian and Cate in making a birthday gift to CHUM? There are many ways to give. Sign up for and give on our CHUM mobile app through “Church Ministry One” (search for College Hill United Methodist). Go to our website and make a gift. Try texting 316-330-3383 to make your gift. An encouraging word from Brian, Cate, and Eli Adams!

Why do you celebrate that CHUM exists and is the church that it is to-day? We chose and still choose to be a part of CHUM because we are a church who truly lives up to the words "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors."

How has your identity as a child of God been strengthened through CHUM?

Bring your credit card to church and swipe it at the Square card reader. Or, just bring or mail a check to church! Designate your contribution as “Birthday Gift.”

Thank you for your generosity! Happy Birthday, CHUM, Church, and Child of God!

Do you want to ensure that we continue to provide care and spiritual support for the elderly members of our church? If so, serving as a Congregational Care Minister may be the place for you! We are looking to strengthen our visitation ministry. You don’t have to be a Bible or prayer expert or have prior experience making visits. We will learn together! The group leaves in the afternoon on Sunday, July 28, and will return early on Saturday, August 3. If you are unable to make the entire week, talk to Jodi and see if you can work something out! The cost of the trip for the entire week is $60 per person. The group will work full days on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday, we will work only in the morning. The afternoon will be spent with a guide who will take everyone to an authentic Cherokee lunch at their restaurant and we will visit a museum sharing the history of the Cherokee people.
