Hello from New York City! Winter is fading and the
weather is warming, which means we are moving into the busiest ministry season of the year. In order to make
disciples in an inner-city community of great needs such as ours, we know that we must meet needs first. By meeting
needs, and through a tremendous amount of community
outreach made possible by more than a dozen great mission teams, we are developing deep relationships that
then give us permission to speak truth into people’s lives. We presently offer five ministry programs:
• GED Program
• Legal Help Desk • Computer Literacy
• Job Seekers • After School Tutoring
Join us in praying for two specifics: God’s provision of a
desperately needed ministry space where we can continue
to serve people and gather for worship, and co-laborers. We need at least two additional missionaries to join us on
the field this year to continue to put the gospel on display in our community.
Thank you for praying for God’s ministry of reconciliation in
NYC as we pray for your ministry in North Texas! You can follow us at http://www.graffiticoneyisland.nyc/.
Monthly Missions Minute
An Update from Stephen & Carrie Trainer with Graffiti Church, Coney Island:
25 Years!
That is a number worthy of celebration. Many couples have a special anniversary celebration when they reach 25 years. Employers have special recognitions for those who have worked 25 years. It is a milestone worthy of recognition.
As a church, we are there! April 24 we celebrate 25 years as a constituted church. That is significant. Whether you have been around for all 25 years or only 25 months or only 25 days, please plan to be here to celebrate this significant milestone.
Terry Cosby was the first Pastor and he will preach at the 8:15 service. Tommy Hood was the second Pastor and he will preach at the 10:45 service. It is going to be a great time together.
Congratulations church on a wonderful 25 years. I’m looking forward to the next 25. God has great things in store for us.
Also I want to thank you for recognizing my first anniversary and for the gift. It means a lot to Valorie and me. The Knox family is glad to be here serving our Risen Savior with you.
Glad to be your Pastor,

Thanks so much to everyone for making our Easter celebration such a wonderful time! Even
though the Easter season is over, let’s continue to take advantage of the opportunities to reflect on Jesus’ love and sacrifice and to help our children strengthen their relationships with Him. As our
children realize that Jesus is so much more than a long-ago historical figure, they can develop a “best friend” relationship that can carry over throughout life.
Children don’t really relate to terms such as “Savior” or “Redeemer” and concepts such as death
and resurrection can be too abstract for little ones to grasp. I often talk to children about making Jesus the “boss” of their lives. Using the word “friend” is also a kid-friendly word that is easier for them to
understand. Kids know how it feels to have a friend and be a friend so try this approach for sharing Jesus as a forever friend:
1. Talk to your children about their friends. Have them talk about their friends’ special traits. Ask what they like about their friends and what they like to do with them. Ask why their
friends are important to them.
2. Brainstorm the qualities of good friends. Ask children what good friends do and how they act. Talk about what makes someone their best friend.
3. Share the good news that Jesus is the perfect friend. Remind your kids that Jesus loves them so much that He died for them. Tell them He will never leave them or disappoint them.
Let your children know that Jesus came back to life so that we can have a “forever” friendship
with Him on earth and in heaven.
It’s good for us as adults to think about these things, too. Love, Linda
Church Family,
This is my favorite time of the year: baseball season is
upon us. For some of you, if either you or the postal service are delayed, a few regular season games may have already
been played by the time you’re reading this. At the beginning
of baseball season there is a sense of newness. It is spring time, the grass is green and alive. The sun is out and temper-
atures are warming. Every team has a fresh start and believes that this will be their year. There is a universal sense of opti-
mism across the baseball spectrum. I find that this optimism carries over from my baseball expectations into every corner
of my life. I hope that you are letting optimism fill all the cor-
ners of your life today. Whatever lies before us, our God is bigger, our God is better, and our God is able. Find your
peace, comfort, and hope in Him and approach today like you already own it. This will be your year.
Grace and Peace,
Terence
